Request for Subclasses to use related IA Class specific Styles

ZOS,

Just a friendly request that when subclassing starts, if I have one class that's now inheriting another class line can you all please consider allowing these circumstances to have access to the class specific gear (or if nothing else just the styles) for class locked IA gear and styles? Like a DK having Necro classes is part Necro now with everything that comes along with that so I feel it would be appropriate to dress as a DK or Necro. Because he's both. :)

Thanks

Perhaps this is where a ronin such as you belongs. Today, Victory is mine. Long Live the Empire.

There is no reason for anything from the Archive to be locked anymore.

What, the Templar who traded the Aedric Spear line away is still able to wear the Aetheric Lancer set? But the DK who is using *only* Aedric Spear skills is not able to use it? Yeah, that makes sense.

    Unlock the sets.
And for the love of all the Divines, unlock the fashions

Unlock the Class Mastery too. No reason to use the Necromancer one that's being nerfed by 80% next patch when I can get the second best AoE cc behind Streak from Warden class mastery.

The glaring flaws that came with GLS and to the corpse mechanic with the upcoming pet limitation in PvP shows me the level of thought that can go into some changes. I just think if they're going to mix it up they might as well go all the way.
    • Make Arcanist portal and Mist Form work smoothly as Streak and Arc portal work over gaps/uneven terrain
    • Give every class an execute
    • Give every class a mobility skill
    • Give every class an unblockable/undodgable skill
    • Bring back Reflective Scales and morphs so we can choose between that and Crystallized Slab
    • Make another skill that works just like cloak maybe put it in the Dark Brotherhood line
    • Let every class burst skill double up. 6 Stacks for whip consumes up to 3 per cast, Every 3rd cast of Blastbones spawns 2 Blastbones, Increase damage scaling on Backlash.

No reason not to hand out utility like candy, make arbitrary limitations(class sets, styles, and mastery), or make alternatives subpar since things aren't locked behind classes anymore the need to maintain uniqueness is gone. The necessary changes to subclassing may or may not even come. If next year's season pass brings a new system subclass balancing might be put in limbo like hybridization.

Not to get technical, it's not as if pure classes will stop existing after the update, and some players will still choose to play them, so they should enjoy the effects from the class sets and styles (especially since the playstyle will have some disadvantages compared to multi classing).

I’m sorry, but are you seriously implying that being able to play fashion with a certain style page in any way makes up for getting nerfed as much as DKs or Sorcs have?

You don’t have to tell me that “some people will still choose to play pure classes.” I’m one of those people who is keeping all of my characters as the Class they were designed as, with the minor exception of the two hours a week I need my main to be sweaty in a trial prog and then I’m armory-ing him right back to normal when the prog is done.

However, I played during U40 when we could preview the Class styles on everyone regardless of Class. I still think the fashion should be for all - I thought it when it was locked down in U41, and I still think so now that Classes are basically gone.

The sets should also be available based on what skill lines you have. Again, the sets themselves are not making up for those nerfs - none of the Class sets are super strong (with the possible exception of Corpseburster), so it’s not like a pure classes will be able to make use of one to get back any power. Also, you can only wear a max of two of them in the first place, which will be an issue when the third comes out.

The best way to try to balance pure Classes against Subclassed builds is to add a passive bonus for not Subclassing, which I fully support. Forcing pure-Class builds into one specific build using the Class sets as the only option is not solving any problems; it’s just taking away creativity.
