Are you going to purchase the 2025 Season?

    Yes I am purchasing now
I was really hesitant, more than I had ever been before with ESO releases (and I'm here since February 2016 now), but in the end I bought it (still wondering whether I should have not).

One factor is that it's maybe the last big story content release for a while. I estimate the 2 parts to have the scope of 1 normal chapter together, so that's still okay for me - but that's really the minimum, I won't pay money for any less than that; which is also the reason I suspect that in 2026, I'll be out. To clarify: I'll still play old content then, I guess, so I have no intention of leaving completely yet, but if we only get a few dungeons or some new systems as a year's content, I will certainly not pay for that.

That said, I don't buy crowns anymore and I think about not renewing ESO+ again when it runs out the next time.

owned eso for 3 years or so before i ever actually played it. i would open the game up and collect the login bonus every morning while having coffee and going through emails and whatnot. this was back when they used to give crates away almost every month. i wasn't actually ready to play it until 3 or 4 years ago when ffxiv became unplayable on hughesnet. like... could only log into the game between 3am-6am if i was lucky. i would have to stay logged in all day if i wanted to play and if i dc'ed for whatever reason, well that was it for the day.

eso worked great on hughesnet, so i subbed and that became my game. i never have agreed with the expac/chapter/season/whatever-you-want-to-call-it pricing. you get a fraction of what other mmo's give for the same price. of course, eso gives away more for free than just about any other mmo. but once you get done with the free stuff, you are out of things to do.

anywho... a year and a half ago we were able to get starlink. i was thinking i was ready to go back to ffxiv this summer. and then they started putting out more info about the season pass for eso. so now it's even more expensive for even less content. the subclassing would not have been a deal breaker for me, but i'm not happy about that either. at first i had thought i would go back to ffxiv for a year, take a break next summer and pay a month of eso+ to play gold road and solstice.... but then i realized there will be free eso+ trials and i don't even need to do that. i can just wait for the free trials and play the stuff i'm missing then.

the wall event does sound appealing. i've always enjoyed those kinds of things in wow and ffxiv, but i just can't justify the price with the tiny amount of content that comes with that. even the full size zones, you can do them in a day or two.

Yes on two active accounts. No on a third account that has been inactive since account-wide achievements.

It's a transitional year, I'll make a longer-term decision next year when I see what happens when the transition is over.

Where is the "I already did" option? Should be it's own option, would certainly tell a tale I would think.

I intended that the first option would include that because someone that already bought it did purchase it now. We aren't able to edit the choices or I would have added that, so I directed that those that already purchased it to use "Yes I am purchasing now".

Not now but later when it goes on sale
I am planning to get it at some point this year. It might or might not be on sale at the time. I hope it is! That'd be nice. :p

At first I was thinking I'd get it on sale, like I have been the last few chapters. (Assuming it would go on sale). Then I wasn't that thrilled with the idea of the story, so I thought: eh, maybe not. Then I wasn't thrilled at all with the idea of subclassing, so I thought: probably not.

But I honestly don't know now. Still mulling it over and weighing how much enjoyment I get out of the game with how much I'm willing to spend on it.

And I know subclassing is base game and not part of the content pass, but all the information came at us at once, and so it's firmly set in my mind as one of the bad parts of the content pass. Not logical, but there it is.

Already bought it, though a little reluctantly, I am always miffed at something with ESO, but other MMOs just don't match up. So I am here and I want the new stuff.

Not impressed with the amount of bang for the buck with this Season. I’m not planning to give up on ESO entirely but I have already been dialing my play time back in favor of other things.

I wasn't stoked about the price increase compared to past chapters, especially since I'm already paying for a sub, so I was considering waiting for a sale (which would have been the first time I hadn't preordered a chapter). But ultimately the desire to play the zone story sooner rather than later won out, so preorder I did.

Not happy with how zenimax are handling "subclassing" or taking on any feedback. Not convinced by the season pass change, we are getting less content and a lot of the language being used is very corporate, non-commital and vague. I've stopped trusting that this company is making the best decisions for its customers.

I'll decide after launch if the product is any good, and then I might buy it.

Was going to buy it after it became available in game. I only pre-order for physical items when scarcity can be a real concern.

After the PTS with ZOS ignoring feedback on the corpse mechanic being gutted in PvP with the pet limit counting corpses making Necromancers the only class where it will be impossible to use multiple class skills and the class mastery to their full potential. It wasn't even done because the skills were overpowered, but for performance reasons so 0 excuses not to adjust the affected skills to compensate for non balance related shadow nerfs.

They couldn't be bothered to at least give their community messengers something to relay to us on the forums, but since it's both Necromancer and PvP related that's not surprising (thread on GLS on the 1st page of their forums for 3 months and not a peep). So since yet again another crippling change to a Necromancer iconic interaction is going through I can't be bothered to open my wallet for the season pass.

I have decided not to buy the content pass because I do not want to own DLC dungeons. This is a bit of a change for me since I usually prepurchase chapters. Whether I am able to buy the story zones without the dungeons remains to be seen.

I am also putting an indefinite pause on ESO plus.

Depends on what they come up with regarding overland difficulty. But they are dragging their feet on that one. Not p(l)aying at all until there is some actual news on that.

The day it's released I'll buy it purely for a particular set I want. Wasn't persuaded by the 'for a limited time only' custom recall action or current 'must have' 'premium' goodies you can get for buying it then or now.

I intended to buy it, but when I learned that I'd already missed out on the unique in-game mage guild teleport collectible since it was 1 day past May 7, I lost interest in all of it.

Already purchased it but it will in all likely hood be my last. I purchased it as I like to explore new zones.

I mainly PVP and PVP really needs some new zones or some revamp of the existing ones or at the very least a few changes people actually want by taking feedback from players.

We got universal repair kits and lancers the last few years for improvements and then lower and lower zone population caps so it's tough to play when you only have an hour or so due to queue times.

I've pre-purchased every chapter and subscribed to ESO+ since late 2018. I bought the 2025 Content Pass as well. I only buy the standard upgrade versions.

For me this is good value as I don't play any other games and spend at least a couple of hours daily in-game.

I said "undecided" because I haven't really looked into what it's all about, but considering I still haven't been interested to buy Gold Road the answer is probably no.

Also the prologue quest writing was atrocious.

Already purchased, mainly because I've been waiting for a good portal customized action, and we got one for preordering. The new zone sounds like a decent adventure and I'm interested to see how the new dialogue options play out.

That said, these past two years ZOS has rolled out two systems that I have wanted for over a decade and was convinced we'd never get: first spellmaking (Scribing) and then custom classes (Subclassing). For that, even if I had no interest in the new zone whatsoever, I'd have still bought the season pass just to support them.

I'm confused. From what I've seen so far, the content seems to be a partial expansion.

The content included doesn't look like any season I've ever played in the past in other games. Seasons generally contain levels and with each level comes a reward.

    Did I miss something?

They're using the term 'season' differently, is all. They aren't doing the yearly cadence any longer, and I believe they went with 'season' because it can encompass different amounts of time.
