I want to make sure that we aren't paying the same money for a chapter, then expected to again pay more money in January. Is this defined anywhere?

Expect a brand new shiny 2026 Content Pass to be announced/available sometime in 1Q 2026.

This one will probably come out before, or at the same time as, the 1Q "dungeon DLC" (or whatever it ends up being, if it exists at all)

They said 2025 is a 'transition' year and future seasons will vary in length. I think they said some could be just a few months and others will be like previous years chapter + DLC.

I assume the price will also vary based on what's included, or maybe they'll just sell annual "content passes" and you just have to hope that year's seasons will include things you want to pay for.

So I guess before some commit to this new model, it would be nice to have a bit more clarity as we are moving from a once a year purchase + ESO+ for the craft bag to a potential multiple purchase a year.

Can you clarify anything more on this @ZOS_Kevin ?

Content passes don't renew. They're 1 time purchases. Given that we were able to purchased this one in Q1/Q2 2025 with the announcement of the new structuring, I'd imagine we can expect to be able to purchase subsequent ones around the same time, likely Q1 of 2026 to keep it clean.

My phrasing was incorrect. I didn't mean renew, but when will we need to purchase again (Q1 or Q3 2026). If Q1, we are paying the same as a chapter but for less time; but we are getting dungeons included with it which was already included with my + and is now changing with not much being added to that outside of the Vault...

I'm trying to see how much of a yearly investment this is going to turn into. Is it ESO+ and then $50/yr like a chapter or is it going to end up being $200 for these "seasons".

At the end of the day, lots of us have thousands in time and money invested into Tamriel and at a time where the economy isn't great, many would like to know the plan going forward - especially with such a change with subclassing grind coming.

I was under the impression it would be called seasons but be like the chapters but with the post earlier, it now made several in my guild raise the question, so I'm coming to try to source an accurate answer.

I doubt that we will get accurate answers about 2026 until 2026. In the mean time, the 2025 Content Pass ends at the end of 2025, as far as anyone knows. Whether that will be the case each year after that is something we probably won't find out until it is really close to time for it to become available. ZOS does not give a lot of lead time.

The other thing to mention is while this "season" (cough cough chapter cut in half) lasts about a year, they said some will be shorter sometimes I believe? So, who knows at the end of the day how many content passes will be in each year... hopefully 1 and hopefully less expensive next time

Nothing to confirm at the moment about next year. But the content pass is meant to cover content through Q4 content cycle.

We will have more information on next year's content toward the end of the year.

Will I be able to purchase the 2025 season pass in 2026, once the season is over?

The probably won't answer this until next year.... My expectation on this matter is that the previous content passes will be rolled into the premium edition of each new content pass. Like how you can buy all the chapters (what they call "best value") in the 2025 premium edition content pass. I think that next year's premium edition will include the 2025 content pass.

The Content Pass FAQ states that the 2025 Zone will roll into ESO+ next year just as Chapters do, so presumably it will also be available as DLC for Crowns as current Chapters are after a year. But I believe that second part is an unconfirmed assumption.

It's called a "Content Pass" not a "Season Pass".

So it stands to reason that "Content Pass 2025" will encompass all content released in 2025, regardless the season schedule.

Come 2026, if you haven't purchased the 2025 content pass, then the 2025 content will be included in ESO+ just like past chapters currently do today.
