How do you earn medals in Capture the Relic?

I equalled my personal best of 5 kills, 5 assists and only 3 deaths (Malcolm beginner build lol). I successfully stopped the other team from taking our relic multiple times, and managed to get it back off them once. Did lots of healing.

But I only got 50 medals

What do I need to do to get the 1000 for the bear fragment? I noticed that at least half the players across both teams had no medals at all.

I’ve been doing BGs lately, and I think the medals daily is good for the other types but not for Capture the Relic. I’ve been picking up the “Win 3 BGs daily”, which really just requires one win to turn in. I haven’t done the “Do 5 BGs” daily because I don’t know if it gives a token or not. Sometimes I have to do a lot of BGs before I get a win because most players do not play the objectives and just treat it like a Deathmatch.

I do not worry about kills and deaths, the goal is to capture the enemy relic while keeping yours to score.

CTR is honestly one of the worst modes to be able to get points.

The only ways to get points in a CTR is:

Capture a relic
Heal your relic carrier
Kill an enemy who's actively holding your relic (?)

You will mostly see CTR matches where only a few people have more than 0 medal points, and that's just because of how it's set up. Killing players (even if they're near your relic) doesn't do a thing.

Yes capture the relic is a problem for completing quests and on top of it is probably the longest game.
Rewards for this kind of game should be increased at least the medals.

I had another go and the second time nobody in my team got a single medal!

I need about 120k medal points and only 5 Battlemaster tokens, so I'll give BGs a miss until I can get both at once again.

CTR is a really awful, unfun, unrewarding game mode. No one gets any medals. Almost all of the CTR matches I've participated in either end 0-0, or the first team to capture a relic goes defensive for the rest of the match and wins. So boring. The whole concept needs to be reworked.

Just wait until the end of the Capture the Relic weekend, which will be either Tuesday or Wednesday. Domination matches and Crazy King are good for medals, you can flip flags yourself if no one else does. Chaosball I think gives medals too, you can grab the ball or throw out some heals to those who have it or defend them if they are attacked.

Im sick of complaining about this issue. If CTR pops i just leave and will continue to do so until the scoring is fixed.

I dont think they realise that there is often great work being done by teams in defending or attacking for the relic, with no rewards.

Please update the scoring in CTR!

Chaosball, Crazy King and Domination are the easiest for medals, you can just cap flags and heal the chaos ball to rack up points. CTR and Deathmatch are a bit group dependent, and if there's a mismatch between groups (which is sometimes the case) it can be difficult for someone queuing solo. However, I think for CTR even if your group isn't going for the enemy relic, focus on defending and you can just get points for damaging relic carriers. The worst scenario is when neither group is going for a capture, and then yeah, there's not many things you can do for medals.
