Mages Guild Recall

There has only been one other cosmetic that I thought was cooler than this one, but it was the Coldharbour Recall and you had to buy crates to get it, so I won’t be getting that one.

The Mages Guild Recall was the other cosmetic that I thought was well done and convinced me to buy the Season Pass early. I’m not usually into cosmetics, even the free ones, but I have really enjoyed using it. I noticed that after you ported to your destination, in my case usually one of my houses, that you hear a swooshing sound of the portal closing. I thought that was a nice touch.

However, one time, and only one time, I actually saw a portal behind me close. I’d really like to see this every time. I guess my character is usually too close to the door of the house and the portal is behind the door. Is there a way to fix this?

I always hear the sound but I've never seen the portal at arrival. Can't say why, if it's the camera or an actual bug...

I generally see myself stepping out of the portal upon arrival at my destination, but it's only for maybe one and a half seconds. I don't know how loading times impact that.

I see the destination portal most of the time. If I don't, it's from some sort of lag or delay and I'll hear it well after I've moved on.

Can other players see this one? Because I don't think I've seen anyone else use this recall style yet.

i see it always see it and it might have to do with how fast you take control of your character after you load into a zone. maybe lower end systems wont see it as much

I'm hoping with subclassing they will give us another bundle of skill styles for class emersion. Mage guild recall does match nicely with the recent Mage's guild armor and weapon sets.

I see it most of the time, it could be system limitations/load times, mayhaps. I don't know that i have noticed seeing it when other players appear through it though.

Loading times have gone way up on my server as of late, that might have something to do with it, but I’m not sure if there is anything I can do about it.

I keep hearing complaints about it not working properly from friends and guildmates but I don’t have it so I can’t comment. It was a decent cosmetic but I never got it because I refuse to buy the new Content Passes on principle, not because of the $10 price hike but because they showed blatant disregard and disrespect towards ESO Plus subscribers either this new model.

I am unhappy about the way the season pass makes me buy the group dungeons when I already had access to them in eso plus, but there has been no indication that they are going to change the way it is supposed to work from here out, despite a lot of negative feedback. I have a few things left to do in this game and will see how this year goes before making any long term decisions. I hope I can still enjoy it and continue to do most of the things I am doing now.

For me, if subclassing ends up being the pure monkey show that I think it is going to be, I may spend more time focusing on the storyline than playing endgame activities, and then maybe more time playing Oblivion Remastered.

100% agree. Every time it's the first example for me - no portal visuals at all, just the sound.
