Character Login Background

Hey everyone !

Some time ago, when we were at the character login screen, our characters' backgrounds were different, depending on the last area where we logged off.
Now, at least for me, all the backgrounds are the same, like this one :

Is there an option to change this somewhere ?

no it is not possible to change.

since i believe q1 2020 there's been a new character select background every q1 update.
Though update 46 has another background.

it's never been based on where you logged out, you are probably thinking of another game

"Some time ago" was before Greymoor released in 2020, since then the backgrounds have changed yearly. The current one will change once U46 releases in June.

And no, players can't change it themselves.

Nope, and people have been asking for it.

The last time we had different backgrounds by character was when the background depended on Alliance, and that wasn't a thing since Greymoor launched in 2020. Since then, the background has changed every year to show off the new Chapter zone.

We actually will be getting a different background with the next patch as well - the Coldharbour one was only sticking around for a single patch. But it will be the same for all characters.

Oh that's right, it did not depend on the area where we last logged off, it depended on our Alliance !

And yes that was a log time ago, I've been playing since Beta so sometimes it's hard to place things chronologically

Coldharbour is not may favorite background, but this one is way too yellow for my taste.

At least I won't see this one that long as I am usually quick about logging in.

This one is way too bright and yellow for me. The hazy background also reminds me of dust or pollen in the air... (not saying it isn't pretty It is in its own way. Just not to my tastes.)

I do have a question about the "thing" behind the portal that is moving around, what is it?

Well, the good news for ya'll is I use a Reshade preset I made, so my color is a bit boosted in the saturation department. Hehe
It definitely won't be AS bright or yellow for you both upon release.

Can't wait for another discussion of monitor calibration, sRGB colour gamut and orange, etc, when the patch rolls in. :-D

That is the same portal as the Endless Stair in Coldharbour, you visit it at the end of that Zone Storyline. The moving thing is a part of the portal.
