Where’s the pouches? Crime Doesn’t Pay

I’ve been pickpocketing NPCs for an hour and I’ve not had a single ill gotten pouch during the crime wave event mostly Nobles Included, finally managed to get one from a safe box.

Why is the drop rate so low or am I just having bad rng ? They need to increase drop chance

I'm reluctant to disregard bad RNG, but I've pickpocketed A LOT (seriously.. obscenely so) and I've received a grand total 2 pouches from thievery.

It might be bad luck on my part. But I've filled the fence/launder quota on 3 characters (as well destroyed many many more) and only 2 pouches to show for it.

[edit] And yes, I made sure my bounty is sky high. I don't even use Woe to kill an empty target, I leave sneak and stab them in the face for all to see to ensure witnesses.

Sorry, forgot to also add my bounty is at half 1 million so surely this is sufficient

This seems a bit brutal though I do feel the safe boxes. Have a better chance to drop them, NPCs seem almost a complete waste of time

Can confirm the issue seems to be the pickpocketing

The drop rate is terrible…

But on the plus side the safe boxes seem to be much more generous just picked up 3 pouches in around 20-30 safe boxes

So just hit them

I had stated before that I maintained a bounty for 2 hrs and received only 2 pouches. I am thinking that the times that I did receive the pouches is when I was actively KOS / Fugitive.
But that is not what the Event states.. So why is the Bounty not rewarding?
Will it be the same with stealing from Safeboxes? And if I am too good / undetected, will I never receive a pouch?
It was that way on the PTS the time that I was testing the event...

Safeboxes are limited to smaller numbers, and are overrun with looters. I have no desire to race other players to them. At least NPCs are a dime a dozen and you can always find a spot not overrun.

Yeah they certainly not ideal , nobles should have a higher chance to drop them but I don’t think the value of the NPC makes any difference

Make sure you respec to not get your bounty/heat lowered or removed like from passives or cp.

When I tested this event on PTS, exclusively doing safeboxes (with no competition since it was PTS), the drop rate for the pouches seemed really low even with a fairly high bounty. Sounds like they didn't really adjust it based on that feedback.

What are the furnishings that will drop? The event guide just said "Several new furnishings." Basically, is it worth it to try and do this?

Right. So also there are supposed to be furnishings in these pouches.. which in my meagre 2 I found zero.
Besides stating that pouches can reward ANY of the furnishings that can be had through crime such as this, there are new furnishings...They are:
Coin Pile, Small
Coin Pile, Tall
Coin, Single
Crime Notice, Large
Crime Notice, Small
I REALLY hope these things will actually drop.. Hell, I first want the pouches to drop!

I spent a good while butchering Redoran goons, since they drop stolen treasure and raise my bounty. After that, I tried pickpocketing with a bounty of around 10k. No pouches dropped; on the other hand, I got 3 purple treasures. I'm not sure if I'll try again in order to confirm if this is the intended drop rate or if I just had a bad day.

Might be an unpopular opinion but this is the perfect event for low drop rate.
Crime doesn't pay, after all.

Plus there isn't anything that everyone desperately wants, just some niche items that a select few would be interested in. There'll be a market for those who get lucky.

Besides, we just had the jubilee event flood us with goodies. Everyone doesn't need everything.

I got one from pickpocketing for about 20-30 mins today, had a fairly low bounty throughout, around 200-500, nothing notable inside, just green loot to fence,

Safe boxes are going extinct as too many players trying to harvest too few resources

Only guaranteed drop is daily heist & black sacrament quests.

…even when you get the ouches,RNG comes into affect again….had 6 pouches so far, not a single furnishing or legerdemain booster.
Reddit post suggests that bounty must be >1500 for max chance.

For an event of 6 days, with no tickets, I’d expect the drop rate to be much higher for the pouches (pretty much guaranteed if >1500 bounty)

Only ones I have had are from the set daily quests. Like others my bounty is in the tens of thousands. I was considering that "maybe" it is a bit too low, but that puts an end to that thought.

Looting safeboxes is not exactly a good farming method due to their spawn rates and everyone else looting.

*pretends to be shocked* ... I stopped PTS testing for the sole reason that no matter what feedback I gave, particularly on bugs, nothing changed when it went live.

They're tradable and can be sold on guild vendors.

I was excited for this event when I saw the news for it. I killed a bunch of people, got my bounty up pretty high and started pickpocketing like a mad man for a few hours....and I think I have seen 3 pouches.

Event is already dead for me.

ZOS needs to find a better balance between grind and reward, because all too often the grind required in this game far far FAR exceeds the value of the rewards.

I am not spending a weeks time stealing from NPC's to get a handful of furnishing tools. Its not fun and it drives me away vs making me want to engage.

I've gotten a ton of boxes doing the repeatable DB contract and TG covetous countess quests. (You can stock cleaned goods for the TG covetous countess quest and do them over and over very quickly). Nothing good so far save one single-coin furnishing and one gold legerdemain tips item. Not really worth any specific effort toward getting boxes, IMO. It's a great time to level toons that don't have max legerdemain, though. Especially since the levels will also count toward the golden pursuit.

Contracts (the infinite ones) give guaranteed pouches as well. I gave up on pickpocketing since drop rate is awful. I pickpocketed more purple stuff though but will only do contracts for the ongoing week.

I spent several hours of picking and two rounds of dailies on two characters.
I did pick 3 purple motifs from Vvardenfell pickpocketing very quickly, 2 motif from 1 pick which really surprised me.

Then I did the heists and Elan quests from Hewes Bane and the contract kills and assassination quests from D. Brotherhood. I received several pouches. 1 contained the inkwell furnishing item. The others just junk to sell back to fence.
