Seriously... Allow us to turn off NPC dialog in the Text Chat on Consoles

Please, please, puhlease act on this sometime soon.

On Consoles, the option to turn off NPC subtitles/dialog only applies to the onscreen chat window. But it doesn't apply to the Text Chat box that you can pull up to interact with and/or scroll back. It's bad enoughh when you want to scroll back while doing regular overland content and there's a bit of npc dialog scattered in, but it's manageable. However, do any Dungeons, Trials, Arenas, ToT, etc.. and you have mountains of npc dialog to scroll through, with no identifiable reference to estimate how long ago something popped in various guild/zone/area chats.

Seriously. It's been long enough. Please bump this QoL change to the top of the list (assuming it's even on the list to begin with).

    I quote like this change as sometimes I miss dialogue and want to know who said what. I'd be okay with a toggle though.

    For the love of God and everything holy! Please, please make NPC chat in chat box toggled on consoles. It's Soo annoying for ppl that do not want it. It's been 5 yrs already!

    Man sometimes you read something that perfectly encapsulates how you've been feeling and didn't even realize it. This has been ok my mind a few different times recently. I'm a returning player and I could've sworn it wasn't like this when I left around northern elswyer. Add my name to the chorus. Toggles please.

    I don't know what it looks like on console, if there are limitations or not, but, on PC, with only native resources, I keep a tab for everything, but NPCs lines; and a second tab with only NPCs lines, in case I don't immediately understand something they said.

    This way I can navigate the regular chat without the hassle of trying to find, for example, guilds' conversation cluttered by NPCs random chit-chat.

    While I appreciate your input, I'm aware of how it works on PC. Hence why I started describing the issue with "On Consoles".

    Okay I’m seriously questioning at this point what settings console even has. You can’t turn off NPC chat, or bloom, or vertical sliders? Next you’ll tell me you can’t change FoV or turn on show ultimate number… I feel bad for you guys :'(

    We can do both of those (fov/ult). We can't mark something as junk. Whatever y'all are doing to use emotes and take screenshots at the same time, we also can't do.

    To be fair, Consoles do have that same setting to turn off NPC chat just like PC. However, that only works on the main chat window within the main HUD.

    However, since consoles don't have a mouse/cursor interface, that chat window is not as functional as it is in the PC version. It can't be resized and it's entirely too small (only fits 8 lines of text with the smalles font), and you can't scroll back on it to catch up on what you missed, preview links etc.. However the option in settings to turn off NPC dialog in the chat window does indeed prevent NPC dialog from appearing in that chat window. But console players basically ignore that chat window for the most part as it is largely useless for anything more than to catch your eye when a colored text appears and prompt you to open the added solution (see below).

    Eventually ZOS added a secondary chat window that you can pull up which is much larger (takes up nearly half the screen), you can scroll back, preview links, etc.. a very nice solution actually. EXCEPT that the NPC dialog setting option does not apply to this added window. So depending on what activity the player is participating in, there is often mountains of npc dialog to scroll through to find what they're looking for.
