ESO+ sale does not work.

I previously had an ESO+ subscription through Steam.

When I try to add a one-month subscription now (which shows the 50% off sale price), Steam redirects me to the ESO+ subscription page—but there, it displays the full regular price instead.

According to the website, it states:
Steam (PC/Mac): All Steam players, including those with active memberships, can access the sale.

So I’m wondering—is this a bug, or is the discount only available to players who have never subscribed before?

I also have a regular account and can log into both. Steam offers additional benefits such as regional pricing, achievements, friend lists, and more.

Additionally, the sale pricing doesn’t seem to apply on the official website either—it displays the sale price as if it were the regular price

I have the same problem, came to the forums to see if it was reported yet.

If you click "apply" on Steam and you have an active membership, it won't charge you yet but updates the next date it would charge you, and it's the full amount, not discounted.

I haven't checked the ESO site yet.

i'm not using any "platform" to play eso tbh and I therefore never have any problems with Steam.
All actions related to my account are done on the game's official website, and I have never encountered any problems.
Going through a third-party platform is a thorn in your side, I think. But hey! Do what you want, mate

nope, do not have an active membership. I used to have. BTW the offical ESO website also does not show any discount, so it is a platform independent bug.

I assume everyone who uses Steam is having this issue if they tried to redeem, so if they fix it, it should be fixed across the board regardless of our Steam IDs being included.

There we go, they've edited the advert to say it is only for new subscribers after catching hundreds if not thousands with the false advertising.

I do not accept the apology. I already own all the DLCs, chapters, and now the new season as well. The only reason I ever considered getting ESO+ was for the craft bag — just so I could return. But now, there’s no need. See you in the new season… this is your last chance, ESO

AFAIK, per the post above, it *looks* to me like they intended it to work, but after the issues with Steam and realizing they couldn't fix that in time, had to change it. OTOH, I'm not sure about the ESO website; maybe that also changed to be "fair".

They are refunding people who were actually charged. (It didn't work for me but I didn't confirm after seeing it changed to full price at checkout, and wasn't charged.)

I'm not sure that's the case, the few screenshots people have shared of the support replies indicate ZOS considers the matter closed. You paid full price for ESO+ and you received ESO+, regardless of the circumstances and marketing that led to you making the purchase.

This was a complete scam and false advertising. You should have to eat the $7.50 refund. It didn't mention anywhere on steam or your website that it was only for new subs to ESO+. The only reason I even considered it was because I thought I was getting 50% off. You should at least offer a free extra month for your mistake.

This comes from someone who doesn't mind spending money on your game. I've just bought a 21000 Crown package and the new 2025 content pass for $49.99. It's the principal of you making the error and deceiving people into thinking they were actually getting 1/2 price.

Changing something you promised afterwards is pathetic, very pathetic. What would you call this, fraud, theft, lie... I've been playing ESO for almost ten years... shame on you ZOS! I agree that they have to somehow make up for what they stole from us. The thing is, in principle, it doesn't matter how much the amount is, theft is theft.

It's not true that they're giving money back. They changed it so that the discount is only for those who have never had ESO+. Those of us who paid full price and already had ESO+, who the hell are we?

Wait this sale was only for new subscribers? That is 100% false advertising, it didn’t mention new subs anywhere on the social media ads, literally just said save 50% on monthly ESO+ now.
