Expectation when purchasing this is that you can practice augmented BGs while out of combat so you can gauge how much of a difference the sigils make.



First problem is none of the sigils change any of your character stats, and you just get cryptic buffs:


Using it in combat definitely does greatly increase DPS, but none of that is reflected on the character sheet.



Worse are the non-parsing ones like Defense, where it's even more difficult to tell what it's supposed to be doing for you.



Problem with speed is basic character movement speed doesn't show up on the character sheet, even under Advanced Stats when it seems like an obvious inclusion.



I'd been wrongfully (I think?) assuming this provided lingering Ultimate generation after filling Ult to full. Basic in-combat Ult generation isn't listed on the character sheet, which seems like another obvious inclusion.


Everyone was optimistic that the dueling mats were an exception to the long-standing problem of not being able to use AOEs on placed furnishings. This makes these mats so much less useful since you can't practice combat much if they are in the air. There are only a couple houses where this huge flat circle can be placed on the ground to maintain the illusion of function.
