Arcanist Buff-- Seriously??

I haven't been able to jump in, but from what I know of arcanist, this supposed nerf will do nothing to tamp down their power. They already have good resource regeneration-- so what will that increased cost do to them? You don't usually have more than six important enemies in a fight, so who cares about that limit? Why increase the power when it's already the best spammable (ish) in the game? Am I missing something with this?

    Banner is also nerfed, Zena's is nerfed, damage passive nerfed.

    Edited because scholarship wasn't touched, but banner got turned into a drain instead of a recovery debuff.

    Overall looks like a pretty substantial nerf, at least for me.

    Someone more skilled might be able to sustain fatecarver with the banner drain and the increased cost alas sadly I won't.

    Chances are I will have to drop banner and the coral mini-game might be beyond me now, may need to change to ansuul.

    Haven't looked into subclassing yet, maybe the idea is to 'subclass' to make up for the nerfs and we'll have to sub DK now or something.

    Hopefully the theorycrafters will have a look and come up with something that doesn't require me to grow new extremities to at least be back to where I am now in terms of 'power' once the patch hits.

    I just checked one of my recent logs and the average synergy cpm from the very best dds in the entire game is about 11. Which is a synergy every 5.5 seconds. Arcs were more like one every 10 seconds. Again, from some of the literal best players in the game (members of Limitless and Genesis).

    All that said, I just saw a 145K arcanist parse where they basically only pressed flail and beam. So you can probably sustain it.

    Relentless focus, incap, and GLS were the only non arc class skills used.

    I'm upset by the nerf honestly. I haven't used an arcanist before and I was excited to use their laser beam against big monster crowds! I wonder if they could make it to where the target cap is like 12 for Monsters and 6 for players. I think my wall of elements probably hits more enemies than the arc beam now. Still eager to try it, most dungeons and IA probably don't have huge swathes of enemies. But still. Laser beam.

    There is a bug with solar barrage however. So these numbers will not stand.
