I’ve been waiting since December for clarity on what I am paying for and yesterday only confused me more. No way to treat subscribers in my opinion.

in 2024 buy gold road chapter get a new zone story and system etc.
in 2025 buy season pass get a new zone story (split in 2 parts over the year) and two dungeon releases.

if you only have eso+ and don't buy the season pass you will, on june 2, have access to everything you currently do plus probably gold road, though this is unconfirmed. You will not have access to Solstuce. later in the year you will have access to the new dungeons.
As for what happens june 2026, will the 2025 season be rolled into eso+? No answer has been given.

What you have access to on June 1st is what you will have access to on June 2nd, at least as far as playable content. The new "Season of the Worm" stuff will require the new content pass.

As best as I can tell, it will work like a Chapter where it is not included with ESO+, but will be rolled out in a few stages over course of year rather than all at once like a Chapter. And I expect that when they come out with a new season/pass, the Season of the Worm stuff will become available to ESO+, just like the last Chapter becomes part of ESO+ when a new Chapter comes out.

So you used to need ESO+ and separate Chapter purchase each year if you wanted access to everything. Now you need ESO+ and separate Content Pass purchase each year if you want access to everything.

It seems like an unnecessarily convoluted and confusing change that will irritate a lot of existing players, while ultimately not really being much different in the grand scheme of things.

I am going to hazard a guess, and take it with some salt, that these 'Seasons' are more or less the same routine as the typical Expansion system, in that ESO+ won't have access to the newest most current thing as part of it, but everything prior to it will be. So for this, Worm Part 1 and 2 would be paid for (I am assuming even though they are in parts, it's still the same season), and then next year when whatever season we get drops, the Worm season would go onto ESO+. I've no clue what they'd do though if they drop two seasons in the same year, but hopefully the same as they always have done.

Oh, you'd also have access to whatever Dungeon DLCs drop as standard as well.

I'm not confused about anything. Other than their long term post 2026 plans it is very clear what is going on, and I never expected them to explain long term plans (they should but they never have so I don't expect it) You can like it or not like it but it's not a big departure from what they've done before.

The server wide event where we all fight together against worm cult attacks will be available to everyone even without buying the pass, at least.

When I first got ESO+ in 2016, it included any and all new content as it was released. Dungeons, new zones, all of it.

'DLC' was later parsed into 'Chapter' and no longer included in ESO+. From that point, dungeons were included but not new zones. I lost a chunk of confidence in ZoS over that.

It appears, going forward that dungeons will now join new zones in not being included with ESO+. I would anticipate ZoS might consider adding some additional ESO+ perks to make up for the loss of DLC dungeons.

I don't see the difference between Chapters and a Season Pass.

The only difference is the new dungeons will also be included with the Season Pass.

For ESO+ nothing changes. You have access to the same content you would have had access to last year plus whatever old content gets added I.e. maybe Gold Road chapter.
