Slayer of Death itself achievement- how?

I got some vague info from the articles about the prologue, but for the life of me, cannot find a single "soul reaper" event. Anyone know how to proc it? I read it pops off the mini dolmen portals in the base game, but ran into over 20 of these and have not gotten a single reaper event.

Has anyone seen one, is this info accurate, and is it even active at this point in time?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, ty!

Yup, I’m not seeing any either (plus, the ones from the prologue don’t count)

I think we are waiting on the Reaper's Strike Events to start appearing in the dark fissure areas. No one has confirmed a sighting on the live server today. My understanding is that these events award an achievement (to purchase the Soul Reaper replica) and drop fragments for the Carmine Red Soul Trap skill style.

Does anyone know when these "mini dolmen events" will begin?

They should start dropping after the prologue quest - only taking the place of some sometimes - but it seems they're bugged and not working as intended.

A streamer friend says they'll need to hotfix it, but there's no ETA yet.

Would your streamer friend know if once completing the prologue quest the ability to see the Reaper events is account wide or character specific to completion of the prologue?

Supposed to find them randomly in the 'dark fissure' aka mini dolmen event spawns but it isn't working properly and they aren't appearing at all right now.

EDIT: since it's broken right now, no one can confirm whether you need to complete the prologue on alts to activate them.

my mate and I have completed the prologue we are up to Dark fissure 52 no Soul reaper spawns.

Yup, I’m now up to Dark Fissure #37 and not a single worm enthusiast in site.

@ZOS_Kevin any possibility of a comment about this, as it wasn’t mentioned in yesterday’s ESO Direct twitch?
(It’s also sadly not in the recent patch notes either, saying when it becomes active)

Last night in Deshaan, I got 10 of the soul reaper ones that involve destroying the soul reaper machine, and 3 drops for the skill style, which only come from the ones that spawn a named boss and which have a soul reaper machine but you can't click on it to destroy it.

However this morning, none of the ones I have encountered have either type that proc the achieves, just the old style ones.

Today on Xbox EU one of theee was found in shadowfen, I camped the spawn and progressed the achievement to about 8/25 and 6 shard pieces from 10. Then randomly it switched back to a normal fissure spawn and has been like that since, not found another one yet

Edit: just to add I haven’t done the prologue yet

As I mentioned, I was getting these until just before midnight and then did notice that they were no longer spawning. This morning I could not get any either - just the regular spawns - basically like the person above reports. Unlike them I had done the prologue quests so that doesn't seem to affect it.

They were spawning on PTS but it seems even after the hotfix they are no longer spawning. I've done 14 just now and nothing has spawned on PC NA.

@ZOS_Kevin does something extra need to be done after the hot fix?

Are these supposed to spawn in the same spots as Dark Fissures? If so, is it guaranteed that if somethings spawned it will have the Reaper Device at the end? Or is it RNG on top of RNG and not only you have to be lucky to get a spawn but also it must be of the correct type?

I have tried many dark fissures and only the dremora spawning these look like they got bugged again.

Seems this is continuing, without any update or comment.

3x separate threads now on this topic in #bug reports.

Looks like the “Hotfix” on 9th April broke it (as some PC players reported finding soul harvesters BEFORE but not after the patc).

It’d be nice if there was some form of update/comment/plan to fix (or at least communicate about it).

Yes they spawn in the same place and it looks like they are RNG as well.

Though if you haven't completed the prologue story only the old stuff will spawn.

Maybe one of 3 things:

1. Its broken.

2. Low chance RNG.

3. Spawn based on proximity, so if a player not done prologue is close enough those do not spawn.

I did a few dozen mini dolmens the first day after I did the prologue and before the hotfix. Never saw one. If they were popping before them the chance is very low. Still haven’t seen one despite doing another 10-15 yesterday and today.

Yes, this is where they spawn. When it briefly worked properly the first evening, you could get:

1. the original things that could spawn there
2. a Reaper Device with some daedra minions (you destroy it after killing them)
3. a Reaper Device with a named daedra and its protectors, after killing these you loot a fragment for the carmine style and you CANNOT destroy these reaper devices

Just checking to see if this has been fixed. Haven’t been able to play since early this morning when I was still getting the old mini dolmen pops.

@ZOS_Kevin, assuming it hasn’t been fixed then we those of us wanting the achievement and skill style are wondering:

Is this intended and they aren’t supposed to spawn yet?
If they are supposed to spawn, what is the status on the current bug?

6 days since the prologue dropped…

…not a single soul harvester since.

I was having this issue too. Post-maintenance, the first Dark Fissure I came across was a Soul Reaper event. So something might have changed with the maintenance?

You'd think we could get a comment here, even if it's just "this is working as intended" (ie: they're super rare), or "we're looking into this". Why the big mystery? This is part of hyping people up for the new story right? Not something designed to confuse and frustrate us?

So apparently they’re spawning on Xbox after the patch. Anyone see them in PC since the first day when they apparently bugged out?
