Harpooner's Wading Kilt Dropping Stacks

This is a bit of an older bug but I couldn't find if it ever got reported here.

In Update 41 Harpooner's Wading kilt became basically unusable in content. There was some undocumented change that changed how stacks from this set dropped.
Prior to u41 stacks dropped if you were the target of a direct dmg ability and took damage from it, whatever changed made it so that all direct damage taken removed your hunter's focus stacks. One of the largest impacts this had was for Asylum Sanctorium, now when Olms jumps it removes stacks every land making this set almost useless at faster fight times.

I'm hoping this is an unintended bug and it can be resolved at some point since it makes a lot of people's favorite mythic item not viable in the few trials and classes it was good on.

If there's any additional information like logs or something like that to show before and after of how the set worked I'm happy to help however I can.
Unfortunately I can't pinpoint what exactly caused this change in functionality in u41 all I was able to narrow it down to was the patch.

    You had me convinced until this point. I'm sorry, but asylum sanctorum is in fact one of the SMALLEST trials

    How can we expect Harpooner's stacks to be built or lost if the raiders can't even fit inside the trial???

    Asylum Sanctorium needs to be at least...... three times bigger than this

    I think the trial was designed back when Zos was planning to introduce a new playable race - ants

    My favourite mythic is Faun's Lark Cladding so this bug report doesn't affect me. I am sure it getting fixed would help some people though I don't really know.
    Endgame damage doer with more than one vet trial clear.

    Working as intended. Per your example, when Olms jumps, you are indeed taking direct damage from him, everyone does, no matter where you stand, which is why you move out of the big one-shot area, and BLOCK.

    I think it‘s working as intended. In my (german) client it clearly states „when receiving direct damage“ and not „if you are the target of an attack with direct damage“.
    It‘s some kind of minigame as most modern proc sets are: If there is an attack with direct damage you have to dodge instead of block.
