I would like to create a personal list of things I’d like to see in ESO, and I’m curious if you share similar tastes or have similar wishes.
Mage armors from Skyrim.
I really like the mage outfits in ESO (except for the old Mages Guild ones—those are awful). But I’m absolutely in love with the simple style of mages in Skyrim, so I’d love to have access to Skyrim’s mage robes in ESO, whether as costumes or outfits—it doesn’t matter. I like that they’re rustic and work really well for beginner characters.
Fixing the armor of base game NPCs and enemies to better match their roles.
For example, Vanus Galerion, the leader of the Mages Guild, PTS SPOILER
could wear his PTS look in the base game too
, or even in other content, just to set him apart from the other mages in the guild. Similarly, higher-ranking Red Rook enemies, like named ones, could use the Red Rook outfit in the game! This kind of change would make the game—especially the base game—feel much more unique and, frankly, more tolerable visually.
PTS SPOILER
New weapons.
I know, everyone talks about new classes and such, but honestly? New weapons would make this game shine so much more, in my opinion. From fist weapons to sword-magic hybrids, there are so many options that wouldn’t even require new outfit styles but could introduce exciting gameplay for all existing classes.
More Scribing content.
More spell options, with some resembling those from the original games, like summoning a fire atronach, a familiar wolf, or even flames! I think this system has so much more to offer!
A difficulty scaling system for the game.
Difficulty slider? Instance adjustments? I don’t know, there are MILLIONS of suggestions we’ve seen on the forums for this. I just wish… for some kind of system like that. I’d love to feel challenged when doing quests because, honestly, the ease of the quests breaks my immersion, and it really saddens me. (Maybe we’ll see something like this in the future, huh?)
Children!
I know it sounds silly, but I’ve always found it weird that ESO doesn’t have children, aside from a handful of references to them here and there. I’d really love to see more child characters in the game—it would add a lot of life to it!
More interaction with older Companions.
More quests or dialogue for previously released companions, especially for Bastian and Mirri. Older companions are starting to feel outdated compared to newer ones in terms of their interactions.
More references to armor from the original franchise games.
I’d like to see armor inspired by the gear from Oblivion, Morrowind, and Skyrim. We already have some from Skyrim, but I’d love to see a Glass Armor inspired by Skyrim’s version or even Mithril or Silver Armors! I’ve always found Skyrim’s Glass Armor spectacular, and I’ve been a bit sad it’s not available in ESO (other than ESO’s specific version, which is pretty cool).
Rework old monster models.
For the love of the Eight Divines, the Draugr need attention. They’re some of the most iconic monsters from Skyrim (aside from dragons) because they’re grayish corpses with glowing blue eyes. In ESO, they’re just… zombies in Nordic armor. A visual rework of the Draugr would appeal a lot to Skyrim fans, and we know how much that helps with player numbers, LOL. And honestly, don’t even get me started on the goblins! Sorry, ZOS, but I HATE the ESO goblin models. They’re basically hunched-over Bosmer! Meanwhile, goblins in Oblivion and Skyrim AE are super unique and distinct from any other monster (short, funny proportions, big-headed).
Winterhold
Look, I’m not a big fan of Nords. And honestly, there are other things I’d like to see much more—Hammerfell! BUT, man… I REALLY want to see Winterhold before the collapse. It must’ve been glorious! The College’s remaining architecture is incredible—imagine an entire city in that style!

I find it unacceptable that Windhelm is portrayed the way it is in ESO. We’re talking about an ancient city—the castle we see in TES V is the castle of the Kings of Skyrim, one of the oldest standing structures in the province. And in ESO... the castle simply doesn’t exist, the walls look new, and everything is just a repetition of assets we see in every other Skyrim map on ESO. Yet somehow, subtly, the interior of Windhelm’s castle matches the exact structure we see in TES V. These ancient cities deserve proper attention in a remake—not just environmental texture updates, but entirely new models and artistic rework as well.
