So as I'm playing on this chilly winter evening playing ESO and relaxing, I think about how the past 11+ years has gone and the kind of connections I've formed in game. I recently left a guild to make room to join a more active one, but it was somewhat of an impulsive response. As I thought about this, and how I still think of the guild I had left and the memories I had with them, I started to wonder about what would happen if the player guild cap was increased instead. All 5 guilds are ones I feel a connection to, and don't really want to leave any of them without saying farewell.
So let's say players can join 10 guilds instead of 5.
What would be the positive and negative effects of that?
Some of the positives that I think would come of it: Guilds that don't rely on trading and snagging a trading spot will thrive more. I certainly wouldn't be in 10 max-sized trading guilds that always have spots in places like Vivec, Rawl'kha and Mournhold - keeping up with 1 of those is enough. But it would be nice to have way more places to sell my wares at a time, and I think that could help the economy. And I would never have had to leave that one guild I am still attached to even though there are like 3 other active members. Guild masters could help manage a network of guilds better by being in more of them.
And would a more prudent increase be by 2 or 3 to 7 or 8? OR what would happen if we upped the limit to 20?
I'm trying to think of negative effects but nothing is really coming to mind. That doesn't mean there aren't any.
I simp for vampire lords and Glemyos Wildhorn
