Seriously, the disrespect is crazy, one look at the skyrim modding community on console and you'll see how people actually put in the work, either from scratch (and these eventually make their way to pc nexus - like the divergence series) or porting nexus mods to console, and some of these ports require a LOT of work to port. Mods with skse requirement have been entirely rewritten by console users to work there, including making and testing scripts from scratch.
PC elitism is crazy, we get it, it's better, but that doesn't mean people with bad pcs or just some who prefer to play on console are helpless and dumb. If the original authors of add-ons don't want to put in the work for a port, they can't just as well provide the files and have someone else attempt a port. My laptop barely runs skyrim, but the 20 fps i get is more than enough to test my own stuff before i upload it to bnet.
The contribution of console modders to pc modding isn't small, but it often goes overlooked because it just shows up on nexus, but people continue to treat xbox players as portbeggers, bffr.
The way this discussion has basically been 'poor console, they have no devs, we'll have to port it all ourselves. All this extra work for us because there will not be any devs emerge from console environments to fill the add ons up. No I checked, there are none.'
LOL

Consoles are not a platform for compiling, running, and testing code. You stick a game disc in them or download a game and play them. What do you expect us to do?
Some of the reasons I've heard for playing on console even though you have a PC include: people who work on a computer, so when they're not at work they want to do something distinctly different, people who find it cheaper and/or more convenient to have a console and a basic laptop for doing other stuff instead of a gaming PC, people with families who want options for everyone and people who want options for themselves.

A lot of people who play ESO on consoles also have a PC, so they'll be able to use that to make mods.

(I'm kind of the opposite, I play ESO on PC partially because that was the only option when I got the game, but I also have a PS5, and a Switch and a bunch of older consoles.)

Let's spend just 3 seconds thinking about this list.
1) People who work at a computer all day and specifically game on console to get away from that probably aren't going to be spending their spare time sitting at a computer developing mods for a game.
2) People who develop software as a hobby (and are therefore candidates to develop mods) are going to have a computer they can develop on, not a "basic laptop".
3) People whose gaming choices are primarily centered around their families are probably spending their time with those families, not developing mods for games they barely have time to play.
4) People "who want options" are already playing ESO on PC, not console, because PC has been by far the best platform for ESO for 10+ years.

@katanagirl1 has a good response to this. It’s strange to me to read these claims about why people game on different platforms. Not sure where you’re getting these unusual data.
For instance, as it so happens I also have a nice computer that I also use for games. I play ESO on PSN because it’s convenient. While I’d transfer my account in a heartbeat, the idea of starting a new account is, well, a non-starter.
[snip]
anyone knows what mods for console will be avaiable atm?
i would hope for
the speed run addon for trials
and something like wizard/dressingroom ( but i think thosse are difficult for console?)
and some other´s
It is also the PvE ones that grant unfair advantages over non-addon users that I have issues with. She actually lol. And if I misinterpreted your dislike then I apologize; I've found most people who want them removed want it done because they just don't like them, so I just sort of assume that these days about everyone who shares that sentiment. He is totally right about the outcome of his analogies, but 100% wrong about why I am against add-ons. So those analogies make no sense. For me it is about fairplay between add-on users and non add-on users.KaironBlackbard wrote: »So because you don't like something, you want it taken from others? Why? If ZOS thought addons in general were causing any sort of real issue with the game, they'd have already disabled them as a test by now. It's literally one of the first things they tell you to disable when you're having problems, so if they thought addons were causing server-wide issues, they'd take their own advice and turn them off server-wide. Wanting addons removed for any other reason than believing they might be adversely affecting the server is imho selfish.Personally I was hoping ZOS would go the other way, and actually remove add-ons from PC. But oh well.
Edit to add in regards to the last bit, I hold that belief in all aspects of life. Just because a person doesn't like or agree with something in and of itself has never, in my opinion, been anywhere near a good reason for taking it from people who do like it. I don't like how beer tastes but i don't think it should no longer be sold. I don't like how most creams and lotions feel on my hands but I don't think they should be discontinued entirely. I don't like tops that hang down too low on the neck because having my neck bare is uncomfortable, but I don't think tops with lower necks should stop being made.
People shouldn't call for the removal of things they don't like. If you don't like something, don't use it, don't engage with it, ignore it and leave the people who do like and enjoy that stuff to it.
I love these analogies.
Personally I actually think some add-ons are really cool! But some are just granting unfair advantages in my opinion.
Aside from the one PvP addon that's apparently alerting people to when they're about to be attacked or something (or for that matter any PvP related addon), how do you find it unfair if X person uses one addon and Y person doesn't? Unless of course addons that give an advantage in PvP ARE the ones you have a problem with, in which case I agree that for PvP, anything that gives someone an advantage of another should be disabled in PvP.
