A possible prestige bug

realJunkrat
So, maybe I misunderstand some kind of game mechanic, but the proficient AI keeps getting prestige at the end of its turn despite the fact that I have agents on the table. How is that possible? I don't think I've ever had this issue with the novice AI

Which decks did you have in the game? Which agents were on the the table? Without more details it's hard to figure out what happened.

Some decks let you gain Prestige directly, without having to convert Power to Prestige. Look for cards that have the blue gem or hexagon shape on them, which is the symbol for Prestige.

    Almalexia deck:
Mournhold Clergy (contract agent) - While in play, you gain 2 Prestige for each card that you discard.

    Druid King deck:
Deepwoods Ritual - Combo 3: Gain 3 Prestige.
Firesong Haruspex (agent) - Gain 1 Prestige. While in play, you also gain 1 Prestige whenever an agent (excluding this one) is placed in your cooldown.
The Chimera (agent) - Combo 4: Gain 3 Prestige.

    Grandmaster Delmene Hlaalu deck:
Patron - Sacrifice 1 of your cards in play that costs 1 coin or more and gain Prestige equal to the card's cost minus 1.

    Saint Alessia deck:
Ayleid Defector (contract agent) - Combo 3: Gain 1 Prestige.
Ayleid Defector (upgraded contract agent) - Combo 3: Gain 2 Prestige.
Morihaus, the Archer (agent) - Combo 3: Gain 2 Prestige.
Morihaus, Sacred Bull (upgraded agent) - Combo 3: Gain 3 Prestige.
Pelinal Whitestrake (agent) - Combo 3: Gain 3 Prestige.
Whitestrake Ascendant (upgraded agent) - Combo 3: Gain 4 Prestige.
Priestess of the Eight (agent) - Combo 2: Gain 1 Prestige.
Chainbreaker Captain (upgraded agent) - Combo 3: Gain 1 Prestige.

    Sorcerer-King Orgnum deck:
Ghostscale Sea Serpent - Gain 1 Prestige.
Sea Serpent Colossus (upgrade) - Gain 1 Prestige.
Maormer Boarding Party - Gain 1 Prestige. Combo 2: Gain 1 additional Prestige.
Summerset Sacking (upgrade) - Gain 1 Prestige. Combo 2: Gain 1 additional Prestige.
Sea Raider's Glory (contract) - Gain 1 Prestige. Combo 3: Gain 3 additional Prestige.

The OP states that prestige gain happens at the end of the turn. Combos happen during the turn. So, the explanation might be unrelated to combos.

If Hlaalu deck is active, it could be end of turn prestige gain from selling a card via Patron.

Npc's love to sell their cards and that prestige goes straight to the score bypassing Agents.

NPCs will often use Hlaalu patron at very end. I don't think you can just sacrifice any card. I think you have to sacrifice a card played that hand. So pretty normal to wait until last second so you have maximum number of cards played to choose which one to sacrifice for prestige.

There should be a rule that these type posts require a screenshot or at least say which patrons were used.
  • realJunkrat
I will try to replicate it next time I see it. But in the last game it happened no one picked Hlaalu. AI picked Allesia, and Almalexia perhaps? The thing is, at the end of their turn, they had power, say 8 to 10, and once their turn had ended, the power to prestige conversionn occured, even though I had agents on board, 2 of those druid agents, and 1 of darkish colour, the one that costed 6 coins.

I will def. post a screenshot next time, apologies for lack of them

K I found 1 screenshot after the conversion from power to prestige occured. The AI gained at least 8 pointshubk55ztlydr.png

What happens when a player has power and an opponent has agents is that player assigns the power that they have against the health points of their opponents agents.

There is a time when assignment still able to be done, but power will still be applied against opposing Agents health even if no assignments are made. Such times are when there is an opposing Agent that has the Taunt key word.

Only Agents with the Taunt key word make it mandatory for some opposing power to be applied against their health.

Did you have any Agents with the Taunt key word during the end of the opponents turn? If not, the opponent can just ignore assigning power against your Agents health and all of their power will be converted into prestige.

In this screenshot non of your agents are automatic taunts so your opponent can just choose to leave them alone and bank their prestige.
