Quest Tracking

Please update quest arrows to show the destination and not the next "doorway." In a world of teleportation and Wayshrines, this is not helpful. Thank you!

I usually open the quest log and choose the option that shows me where the destination is and then put a map marker there so when I open my map I see where I can teleport to.
I believe the default on PC is J (quest log and click the quest) then M (opens the map to the spot) and then F and click to place the marker.

I want the opposite, in a sense. I would like the gates to adjacent zones to be permanently marked on the map. Usually they only show when the game thinks you should use one.

M doesn't always show the spot. It often just shows the door out of town, or a boat, or a caravan, and if we follow those we can find ourselves in an endless loop from place to place to place. Clicking M should show the final destination.

I made a thread about this 4 years ago but it still hasn't been fixed.

I say its become worse with cities like Skingrad who is instances, and its not coded so you can see quest marker locations outside city. Like location of world boss or active events.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Whle fixing this have the Journal Keep focus on the active quest and not changing to the oldest quest in the list when a stage is completed.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

Isn't there an option for that? In options set Automatic Quest Tracking to "off" for the original way the game worked, "on" to track the newest quest picked up.

Maybe I'm misunderstand your ask though.

I agree. There are too many quests where the quest just shows it's out of town. Where out of town? World boss quests are like this. Unless you know where that named world boss is you don't know where to go until porting out of town.
