Personally? I'm not now nor have I ever been a fan of that sort of game. Legends (from what little I know) wouldn't fit well in ESO due to the time frame situation.... though I admit there are various takes on that.
I'm just not interested in card games in an mmo. However, keep firmly in mind that with the "latest iteration" of ESO (as marginally explained in Matt's letter) I'm not.... very much interested in this game at all going forward.
In other words, my input is certainly.... "suspect".
I don't think OP means connecting the ACTUAL Legends game to ESO, but rather making a copy of it so to speak within ESO. The matter of ownership might still be a problem, but there'd be no linking of of accounts or "starting over" because it wouldn't be the actual official Legends game being incorporated.SeaGtGruff wrote: »There are probably far too many logistical issues that would need to be worked out. Aside from any questions of intellectual property ownership-- I don't know if everything is "owned" by Bethesda or if the other two companies that were involved in the development would have to be paid royalties of some kind-- there is also the matter of users who had purchased content in the game (the various stories, cards/decks, etc.), as well as the issue of user accounts in general. For instance, would a user from Legends need to buy ESO if they didn't already have it, and link their Legends user account to ESO in some manner? Or if everyone had to simply start over from scratch, would that create an uproar from people who had spent a lot of money on it?

However, I do agree with a new game that has pretty much the same rules as the standalone, and I, for one, would love it if we could build our decks by finding cards 'in the wild' so to speak. (and for those who dislike such things, have a card vendor that would be able to sell the cards).
Since you could have multiple cards of the same person in a deck, it wouldn't be any issue with people finding multiple cards and they could always sell them on the guild traders (just would need to be watched and balanced to make sure that the cards aren't just clogging up the traders or are soon considered trash)
As long as they are cosmetic, I wouldn't mind some decks being behind crown store (for instance, with say a high elf deck. You could find cards by killing various humanoids in the Alderi Dominion territory and Summerset, or looting chests, desks and things like that, but you could also buy 'skins' for the deck through the crown store.) I would also love to have things like 'legends' tables where it would allow players to play Legends in their own home (along with being able to play ToT in their own homes)
I would also love to see other types of card games (if we do get tables that we can set up in our home to allow us to play games) including single player games (ie, games like solitaire, where I don't have to play an NPC or other player). Other types of games, including dice and board games would also be great.
Sometimes it is just nice to be able to stop adventuring and go do something else while still earning rewards or staying in game.
