There is the build I was recommending to a friend of mine for sorcerer build. Using a Precise Inferno Staff of the Willows, (5/5 willows, 3/3 Warlock, 3/3 Seducer all VR1) I have two set ups there. One set up obviously for single target dps and the other for mowing AoE. They have the vamp abilities and I used the drain life off of it for the single target fight, but not sure if it still beats out dark conversion? ''
For the Solo/AoE fightin build I went with a start cast of Restraining prison to snare the mobs, who SHOULD be attacking the matriach since she taunts them. Once they are under the affects of the Dark Magic Snare, thats +15 percent crit chance against them while spamming pulsar on them. I stuck with Pulsar over the DoT version because the DoT damage when maxed at lvl IV will stay the same, whereas the 10percent debuff will scale with the mobs health.
For the single target/boss focused one I put midnight drain for extra dot/heal vs boss, and I was debating on using Crystal Fragments, but seeing as I don't think any of those dark magic abilities will really 'affect' a group dungeon boss or raid boss, I would think a fire staff based build would be better. So for a boss fight, I"d have the clanfear out to beat on them, start the fight with elemental drain, hit them with a fire staff heavy attack to get the 6 second trifocus crit buff going, then spam the crap out of crushing shock. The magic regen from ele drain will keep that chain going nice, and after 5 seconds, hit them with another heavy attack and spam crushing shock again. If start running low on health, feed on them with the vamp ability. Just keep repeating the drain/heavy attack/shockx3/heavy attack/shockx3 and ultimate or feed as necessary.
With a willows set, a precise weapon, at least 5 pieces of light armor (7/7 light until vr3 then maybe if need be switch to heavy armor pants and chest?) and magelight on with a blue qual staff you are looking at 51 percent crit rating against boss/single target and 56 percent crit against AoE groups (not including if theres a PvP enemy keep bonus involved, could take it high as 62/63. 64 with purp staff 65 with gold staff, and even higher with full divine armor and thief stone once it's fixed in 1.1)
Other than the willows set, I was going to recommend 3/3 Seducer for mana cost reduction, and 3/3 VR1 Warlock for the magic flood (all from jewelry 1 neck 2 ring)
So, like I said I"m not a sorcerer but this was my idea of how to build one. Any thoughts on how to improve this? Thanks in advance for constructive criticism!
