Gold Road Symbolic connections within main story (SPOILER!)

I was already wondering while playing the main story of Gold Road how to interprete the link between the Prince of the Many Paths and Mirrors.
I am quite certain this is not random that the theme of Ithelia is Mirrors.
Is it because in a mirror one can see an image of oneself but not being oneself but something different?
Is it because mirrors when broken present many images of the same object?
What are your thoughts about this?
