Infinite Archive Fabled red orb. What is it?

When you kill a Fabled enemy in the Infinite Archive, a red mist, then a red orb, is released and floats upwards, then expires.
What is that orb? Does it do damage? Does it buff or debuff?

    Not sure if it has any effects tied to it, but I've noticed it's only active when you have the slay Fabled quest

    I think you're right, I've wondered sometimes why the orb wasn't showing, but I probably had the marauder quest those times. So maybe it's just a visual indicator you're progressing the quest? But other quests don't do that. Hmmm.

    Interesting. My quest was kill a marauder, and the red mist showed up after I killed it. Everything else died too fast to see if the orb rose like it has on the Fabled.

    Still curious if this is a buff, debuff, or other. Or if it's just a visual flourish.

    I've never seen it at all.
    maybe it's from a Verse or Vision?
    Or a set, that seems likeliest.

    It's not a verse or vision, it only comes from the foes you're supposed to kill for Esalinwe's quests. Fabled and Marauders.
    It's not a set. I'm wearing Briarheart / Hexos Ward / Oakensoul on an arcanist. Nothing there procs a red globe. It's not a skill, again, no red globes. Just green everywhere. B)

    I'm fairly convinced it's just a visual flourish, but would still like to know if anyone has noticed extra damage, or a buff/debuff.

    (I run with my self-buffs off, so I don't miss things like the Hoarfrost icon, and am not very good at reading the debuffs on enemies, they move too fast for my eyes.)

    ive seen this happen too, but not exactly sure why, i think it might be related to the daily but also not sure if it does dmg or anything, its hard to tell with all of the other stuff going on usually

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

    Its just a little extra something to show you have killed something for the ghosts daily. I was pleasantly surprised to see it
