Hi all, im thinking of moving back to PC for ESO, i have a 4k screen with HDMI 2.1 im wondering what GPU is needed to run ESO at 4k 60FPS or higher. Ive been out of the loop when it comes to PC gaming for a few years so my specs are not great.

I currently have ::

AMD Ryzen 5 3600
16 GB Ram
RTX 3060ti

Thank you.

    AMD 3600 cpu and 3060 ti is a good setup. I had something similar a few years ago.

    Here's the specs I used to get 4k @ 60 fps.

    Textures: High
    Shadows: High
    Reflections: Off
    Ambient Occlusion: SSAO

    Shadows, Reflections, and Ambient Occlusion all contribute the most to fps. You can also lower the View Distance slider down to 30-50% to get more FPS.

    In Cyrodiil, you won't get 60 fps because you'll need a better cpu. But for overland content and dungeons, you'll be just fine with your setup @ 4k 60 fps.

    If you want to play ESO on max settings @ 4k 60 fps, then you'll need at least a 3080 ti or a 4070. You'll also need an AMD X3D cpu as well. Those are very good for ESO.

    Make sure you turn on multithreaded rendering and software occlusion culling. Both are in the ESO video settings.

    Also, I recommend using 120hz and use gsync/freesync. The visual experience is much better than 60 hz.

    Thank you, this is very helpful, after i posted this Ive done of bit of research, im looking to upgrade my CPU to a 5600x or maybe 5800x paired with a 7900 GRE GPU. I know the CPU would still be a bottleneck but its certainty better than what i have now for 4k 60. Then in the future ill look into getting a new mobo- CPU with DDR 5 . At the moment all i can afford is a slightly better CPU with a much better GPU.

    I know budgets are important but if you can any way possible upgrade to a 5800 X3D over the normal "x" variant, then you will future proof your PC for many years to come. The X3D variants perform much better than non-x in games like ESO because of the extra v-cache. It's worth the extra couple hundred bucks.

    In fact I think this is the best upgrade for your system instead of buying a new GPU.

    Get an AMD 5800 X3D and use the 3060 ti. You will have a very good sytem and can probably run ESO even at 4k @ 120 fps with a few tweaked video settings.

    The 5700X3D is worth checking out as well. It's in stock on Amazon for $220.

    https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-5700X3D-16-Thread-Processor/dp/B0CQ4H4H7X

    https://gamersnexus.net/cpus/new-amd-ryzen-7-5700x3d-cpu-review-benchmarks-vs-5800x3d-more

    Final Fantasy 14 is also an MMO so I like to use those benchmarks to compare.

    3600 -> 5700X3D is a 34.2% gain according to this chart.

    Just thought I'd pass this info along :smile:
