Golden Pursuits appeared

Playing on PS/NA, Golden Pursuits just appeared on my menu, as a choice under Activity Finder.

Time left: 7d, 0h
Complete 5 quests
Kill 1 world boss
Visit 2 player houses
Complete 1 group dungeon

The reward is a costume and an arrow (minor adornment)

Go into the group menu, select Golden Pursuits, make sure the pins are all off. It's annoying that it auto pins....

That's all? PTS had more (but very easy) tasks and rewards and I thought those were placeholders and we'll have something bigger and better on live

To answer a question likely to come up: the “visit 2 player houses” one can be accomplished by visiting a single home you own twice.

Because, while this week doesn't look too bad, I can imagine that some people will lose interest immediately as soon as a trial or PvP has to be done unavoidably.

Here is a picture of my crafter wearing the costume and the arrow in the knee adornment, after doing daily crafting writs. solo a WB, solo normal fungal grotto 1, and using the activity finder to visit 2 featured player houses.

For this, you need to do all 4 tasks to get the rewards.

The two Golden Pursuits I tried out on PTS offered 16 and 12 tasks with the rewards obtainable at 10 and 8 tasks respectively. Then there were some tasks with their own specific rewards attached to them.

I like that the Activities menu item changes colour when the golden pursuits are active. Don't like it being automatically pinned, but you can easily turn that off.

You have to do 2/4 for the minor adornment, and 4/4 for the costume.

So far, pretty underwhelming. It's something I'm going to finish in less than an hour. If that's all the rewards for this cycle, then...yeah...missed the mark on this. I want a way to earn attractive, apex quality rewards without Seals. Without having to ration my seals and navigate the timed deals in hopes that my next purchase doesn't lock me out of something else from the next time deal. The costume is cool, but this doesn't really whet my appetite. Hopefully future Golden Pursuits have more rewards.

The UI on this is pretty distracting too. I had completed 2 of the 4 Pursuits, claimed the reward, and the "hold Option to claim reward" pop-up wouldn't go away until zoning. The golden text on Activity Finder is very distracting. I also found some of the highlighting around the rewards to be a bit confusing and distracting. I had already claimed the first reward and there was still this highlight around it. I wasn't sure which UI element I was actually on that moment. I pretty much felt like I was trying to get the UI to go away more than anything.

Seems like yet another system designed to justify Cash Shop prices being far too high and to once again lure us towards cash shop-related menus, which is likely the primary goal. Personally I’m tired of the constant reminders.

But hey I know it hits the mark for some people. Glad there are players who like this system. It’s just not for me.

My experience:

Todays' pursuits:

Complete 5 quests - crafting dailies (2 minutes)
Kill 1 world boss - frost attro southern Bangkorai (Nomeg Hyril) near Nilata Ruins wayshrine (2..7 min depending on respawn)
Visit 2 player houses - your own house counts plus your guildhall (or your friends' one or random player via JumpToHouse)
Complete 1 group dungeon - FG1 normal with a shortcut (can be done on level 15+ character in 4..10 minutes)

2/4 reward - Minor Adornment - Adventure-Ending Arrow

4/4 reward - Costume - Anniversary Nord hero

After looking at the Golden Pursuits, I couldn't excavate any antiquities. It only worked again after doing a reload.
Maybe one of my add-ons was the cause ...

So your own houses count 😺
You could use the home tour feature and probably see some cool stuff.

Yes, just like “read 2 lore books” can be done by tapping the same book(shelf) twice, even a furnishing in your own home, and “afflict 150 enemies with poison” can be done by attacking a target dummy (yours or another player’s) for as long as it takes to proc poison 150 times. It doesn’t have to be 2 different lorebooks or 150 different enemies, despite the wording.

Hey @TomCat just to confirm, we are also seeing this happening on our end without addons for both Tales of Tribute and Antiquities. We have an active investigation ongoing, and will be posting updates here.

I think it is important to start off like they did, personally.

I am sure they will add more tasks, as the general theme is to ramp up engagement. As people complete these, and if ZOS sees that it is too easy, I bet they start adding things. Things like... Complete all of the trials, and any other things they can think of that I won't spend any time doing.

Regarding the "Complete 1 group dungeon"... are people soloing Fungal Grotto to get this?

I was actually pleased to see that pinning is an option, because I've often thought it would be nice to have an endeavor shown in the active quest tracker so I can see my progress on it without having to go back into the endeavors window.

Actually, that's incorrect-- I've often wished that my progress on an endeavor would pop up onscreen the same way that my progress on a daily crafting writ does, like "Deconstructed 3/10 Items at a Blacksmithing table." But being able to pin a given pursuit to the quest tracker is a better solution, I think.

Which is not to say whether it should or should not be auto-pinned. Maybe there could be an option for that in the Settings for the Interface?

Got the same issue. Also couldn't scry. Also also, my mouse wasn't recording left button activity properly, likely due to the same issues.

Stickerbook for FG is full so I did Wayrest Sewers instead. 2 more weapons to go there.
