Breton Hero Build

I just want to clarify right off the bat that this build probably isn't going to be effective for high-end content like Veteran Dungeons or Trials. It's more of a role-playing concept for fun. (Though, I can already hear someone pointing out that Breton isn’t the best choice for stamina builds.) As much as I'd like to dive deeper into this game, I'm a dad of two now and barely have time to even play, so a more casual concept like this is what I’m aiming for at the moment.

Now that we've got that out of the way, do you remember the Breton Assassin from the cinematic trailers when ESO first launched? Now that we have the costume for it (still don't have it—every time I take a break from the game is when it re-releases, but I'll get it... hopefully), what would be the ideal setup for that character? What’s a good build/class that would fit the RP concept?

I’m not looking to get too literal with the RP concept down to the smallest details, like wearing a “light” hood, mostly medium armor, and heavy arms and legs. I’m aiming for a middle ground—something that stays true to that character build but is still viable. For instance, running all medium armor for crits instead of light armor that would benefit magic, and so on.

I use a bow, along with what’s likely a dual-wield setup since he throws daggers (which is a dual-wield ability). As I mentioned, I don't have much time to play, so if anyone has great gear setups and class/ability recommendations, I’d really appreciate it. I’m still unfamiliar with the classes and unsure about the skills.

So my question to you is: what skills, armor, and stat distribution would you recommend for a new Breton to recreate that cinematic version of the character?

And just to keep in mind, not everything has to revolve around endgame content. Some players simply enjoy creating fun characters for the sake of enjoyment, rather than trying to be at the top of the leaderboards or tackle trials.

In the Elsweyr trailer, the breton hero (post- ill-fated encounter with Mannimarco & the other alliance heroes) is revealed to have necromancer-like powers (note the Bone Goliath ultimate). You could go with that class choice if you dig it, or you could go nightblade for the more cloak-and-dagger style he employed in the OG trailers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo50aybqlak

If you're looking for gear that's easy to obtain and fairly flexible, I'd recommend Order's Wrath -- a craftable set from High Isle that a friend/guildmate can make you, or that you can buy from guild traders. Craftable sets can be done in any weight, so you can mix and match medium/light on body as you see fit; medium for more weapon/spell damage, crit damage, and lower stamina costs, while light will give you crit chance, penetration, and lower magicka costs.

For second set, you can grab a solid dungeon set like Pillar of Nirn (from Falkreath Hold), a PvP/buyable set like Deadly Strike, or an overland set like Macabre Vintage from West Weald (requires Gold Road chapter). You won't be top-parsing vet trials, but if you're just looking for sets that are decent for overland and enjoying story content and quests, these should be serviceable. There's also nothing wrong with using a second crafted set -- something like Heartland Conqueror (Blackwood), Shattered Fate (Apocrypha), or even the old-school Hunding's Rage or Julianos sets if you wanna keep things dead simple.

For a Stamina-based Nightblade using DW and bow (since the breton hero is very nightblade in the trailers), I'd recommend Xynode's Sting build. It's fairly simple to use, static rotation, and very fun for all content, casual or otherwise. Since race literally does not affect a build, and the only thing you benefit from race-wise is small passives, just use breton! I personally play argonian, and any race works.

EDIT: forgot to add: the costumes are usually available during the Anniversary events early April, so plan ahead to be around then if you can. ^^

You can use the dual wield skills with a Necromancer to get a more thematically accurate version of the Breton Hero.

If you're looking at one of the 1st CG trailers, you can see the breton coming back like a dead guy on a zombie horse with an army of skeletons with him

with the elsweyr cg trailer and goliath form, this confirms breton hero is a NECRO.

Awhh, Man! The Breton Hero used a Class change token! UNFAIR!
    😂

But seriously, if you want to be a Breton Hero, go Magicka, not Stamina.
First off, the class passives synergise much better with Magicka.
Secondly, if you choose a Dualwield frontbar (and a Bow or Staff backbar), then it doesn't feel any different. Mag or Stam. The rotation is the same, the abilities are the same. Only your spammable is the other morph. But that doesn't feel like it's different, because the animation is the exact same one.

This is my main character, she is a Breton Nightblade.
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildData?id=363355
All stats are out of combat, unbuffed. When everything is at its max, she has 72% crit channce and 109% crit damage. About 6,6k sd at 25% enemy health and over 11k penetration, if you are flanking.
I have found this to be the best balanced approach to Nightblade. Play to its strengths, without giving up identity.
Against base game World and Dungeon Bosses she is a beast. The latest DLC Bosses are a challenge, though.
General overland is actually fun, because she is really fast, too.

I have two kids, too and I feel you bro. 🤛
I include them as much as I can. There are a lot of non violent activities in this game.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.
