Pirate Ship home.

Will we ever get a player home that's like a little pirate base?
You know like a little alcove for plunder with a re-filling station with crains and a Pirate ship parked in the dock we use as a player home to deco with all our ill gotten gains??

My main is a type of Pirate and i've wanted my own ship for SOOOooooo long now.
Don't want it to be movable or anything, just being able to live on a pirate ship i think would be awesome.

I cannot say for anyone else but i would be willing to drop a large ammount of crowns for something like that, real "end game" cosmetics.

Oh, it seems i missed these 2 options......which are no longer available.
Being an adult and not getting to play games all the time really sucks at times.

    Why time gate them though?

Well, i mean i know exactly "why" they time gate them but still...
oh and when i say a "large amount of crowns" i'm not talking about 18k crowns. :s

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Metaphorically speaking.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I missed the only house I'd buy - Tower of Unutterable Truths - by a few months. So I now probably have to wait several years for it, and be lucky enough that I'm both paying attention to the game and lucky enough to catch it.

More likely I'll just lose interest and go play something else.

The "why" is to discourage people from daring to ever stop paying attention to the game, or not buy absolutely everything during the limited time window sales just in case they ever actually want it.

This approach to the crown store is so dumb.

Why forgo your crowns now, on the chance you'll spend crowns while you're hovering, waiting, for the thing you want. Maybe, you won't. Maybe, likely, you'll wander off into life, because waiting for time unknown, indefinitely waiting, is not how people get their fun.

Just give it up zos, and put it all out in the store.

To be honest, they are put behind "time gates" so they can over charge for them when they release them.
It's a common used tactic in online cash shops, called the FOMO effect. (fear of missing out)
It is one of the most insidious predatory tactics in their toolkit.
You will spend more to buy that one item as you know it may be months / years / never again before you get an option again.

I think Bethesda may have actually invented it too.....maybe it was World of Warcraft but after 10 years of profit from it i doubt they'll be changing the model.

As I commented recently in another thread, it's possible that the Elder Scrolls IP might be in a very different place right now courtesy of its acquisition by Microsoft and the success of the Fallout TV show.

Tactics like this might have helped to keep revenue flowing for ESO but the game never achieved Skyrim level popularity and there are probably Microsoft gaming execs now considering how to get it there, with a long term view to the health and profitability of Elder Scrolls.

Unfortunatly i cannot believe Microsoft are thinking of anything but making Elder Scrolls 6 an "online" game with a whole new cash shop, and with Zenimax soon to release info on thier brand new Online MMO i feel the days of ESO are numbered and will play out as a cash cow for Microsoft (who crave money even more than Bethesda ever did)

Maybe they will go that way but there is intense interest in the future of online gaming / social platforms.

Elder Scrolls being one of the biggest and most loved fantasy franchises, and ESO being at least moderately popular, Microsoft would be considering how to capitalize on that in the longer term.

Neither of which is that good if you just want a ship.

Colossal is more a grotto with a ship than a "ship house". The ship is also Aldmeri style and not the best looking.

The Fair Winds is massive and not a common ship. It's also very Daggerfall Covenant themed.

Best would be a ship that uses one of the many more "generic/blank" ships that doesn't clearly belong to a specific group, somewhere on the water, water that is possible to also build on, not like Fair Winds which water is not very useable.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!
