Hi All,
Early this year, we shared a forum survey asking for some feedback and ways to improve the forum categories. The major point we gathered from that feedback is that there are too many categories. As a result, it limits visibility on discussions overall. So with that feedback, we have worked to consolidate several of the forum sections and plan to roll out the new categories today. Major categories like News & Website Discussions and General categories will not be changed.
When evaluating sections to consolidate, we focused on two things.
- Categories that discuss similar scoped topics. Not exactly the same, but close that they could be added to the same category without disrupting other conversations.
- Categories with lower traffic, specifically those that get one post or less a day.
By addressing these issues, we believe the new consolidated sections will better serve forum user conversations and feedback. Below, we have an outline of what will be added and what preexisting sections will be consolidated.
We are taking the forums offline to make the changes on the backend of the forums, so please expect 1-3hrs of downtime. This will start Nov. 7 at 5am ET. Thanks for your patience during the allotted time period. We hope everyone likes the new forum format and it serves for better conversations.
List of New Forum Section
New Category: Systems
- This will replace the following categories: Crafting, Housing, & Tales of Tribute. This will serve as a catch all for all three topics.
New Category: PvP Activities
- This will replace the following categories: Alliance War, Imperial City, Battlegrounds, and Dueling. This will serve to keep all PvP discussion and feedback in one place, rather than across 4 sections.
New Category: Community Generated Content
- This will replace the following categories: Player Guides, Community Creations and Roleplay. This will serve as a catch all for all three topics.
