Some leads drop from silly places.

Farming Esoteric Greaves and looked up that one of the leads is from the secret Sload Boss at the end of Coral Aerie.

A boss that can’t be soloed because you require a full team to activate it. And a boss you’ll almost never encounter because people are too fond of rushing through dungeons in solo queue and you would be lucky to have guild mates join you on a farming quest.

Also been farming for hours and hours and that Harvester plate still hasn’t dropped yet. Considering the amount of effort required I’m starting to think that it just isn’t worth it.

You can actually do the entire dungeon solo, including the final secret boss - you only need to step on one pad yourself. That's how I got my lead a couple of months ago.

But I tried this and it didn’t work for me. I wonder if it’s because I previously had group mates for the rest of the dungeon.

Correct. Have to start it solo.

I ran to this dungeon about 20 times for a lead through the queue. At the beginning of the dungeon, I asked to kill all the secret bosses for a farm lead - no one ever refused.

^^^ Yes, if it's to farm a lead, other players who haven't got the lead yet might be interested in trying for it, too.

I duoed this dungeon for the lead with my friend and we both got it on our first try. But I agree, some of the lead sources are a pain to farm, especially these that are in the last boss/last secret boss.

The hubby and I (with companions) managed to finish this and get the lead. The only boss that was really tough for us was the first one that was a regular boss, my tank Bastian kept dying on me and he’s usually very reliable.

I was worried about the pads when we got there, but I stepped on one by myself and it worked.

I think someone in this thread might have been the one that encouraged me to go for it…

Leads should never be in out of the way places. This is why I always just wait for the IA merchant to sell these if I didn't find/encounter them by playing the way I play. It's just not worth the effort.

The only way to get them to stop putting leads in horrible places is to disengage and stop farming them.

Seducer mythic should be the model for acquisition going forward. Takes you exploring the new content, drop rates are forgiving, no time gates, and it's fun stuff like fighting bosses, not hours of menial labor simulation.

I just ran Coral Aerie solo and then the portal to B’zara bugged out and isn’t working.

It could be a long wait, given that the merchant tends to sell the easiest leads to obtain (static locations and other easy ones). If ZOS was going to add leads to vendors, the least it could have done was removed the easy ones from the vendor pool.

I eventually got the Thras Greaves.

Yeah, every once in a while Ool will offer a lead that drops in a dungeon or treasure chest. But way too many of the leads are from easy spots, and given how many there are, Ool should offer only the more difficult ones. Otherwise you could wait years for the one you need (if it ever shows up at all).

I have done Coral Aerie before and after updates. You can now (it was changed compared to its release) have a team of less than 4 people step on the pads to fight the secret frog boss. Just make sure to do the 3 tunnel bosses and you should be good.
Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.

Hope they don't do that, as I sometimes also buy those static leads if I didn't stumble upon them by accident while just playing. Maybe ZOS should change it to two hard leads, one static lead. Or just increase the leads number to five random leads.

But I am very very very patient and never in a rush, so I can wait. I have eternity on my side!

This is what I did but I thought the portal bugged out when actually I was in the “stuck in combat bug”. I almost left the dungeon until I figured it out and killed my toon in order to interact with the portal.
