What can heal companions?

Are their own heals the only ones that can heal them?
Lemme explain, I am a magcanist, and I have tried Evolving runemeld, Reconstructive Domain, Runeguard of freedom, and they don't seem to have an effect, with the latter, he does get the green glow, but there is no healling whatsoever when he goes under 50%

Why would we not be able to heal our companions? That totally sucks

Any heals that can target allies will heal them.

Whether or not the game will let the skill actually target them instead of prioritizing you is another matter...

Usually AoE heal skills are more effective because they can bypass the janky heal targeting (So things like Vigor, Soul Burst scribed for healing, Energy Orb and Remedy Cascade would be your best bet)

P.s. Runic Defence doesn't heal allies. It heals YOU when YOU drop below 50% because it only provides YOU with Minor Protection to be consumed, for allies it simply grants Minor Resolve and nothing more.

How odd. I do not have an arcanist and know nothing of their healing. My Magplar and Bow Warden routinely heal their companion though as easily as healing another player. Any skill they use works fine (Vigor, Extended Ritual, Green Lotus, Healing Ward, etc). The only thing I can think of might be exceeding the max of recipients for an AoE heal or smart heals giving priority to another player. I don't recall that problem since I normally run solo with companion or as a duo with two companions.

PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo
