New Gamepad UI Menu Scroll Sound

Updated the Console UI Menus up/down scroll sound. New sound is snappier, less ear fatiguing, and more closely reflects Skyrim SFX.

Tick tick... tick tick tick... tick tick tick tick...

Please give us an option to disable the new Gamepad UI menu scroll sound.

Why did this need changed!? The old sound was such a non-issue that I can't even remember what it sounded like. But the new sound is more noticeable and pretty dang annoying TBH. And I'm already tired of hearing it after only playing for a couple of hours.

I'm so tired of developers thinking that since we play games with controllers we must be handicap or need assistance. Well I'm not handicap and I don't need assistance! I just prefer to play games with controllers because I have been for the past 40 years.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one driven mad by this new sound... Please give us an option to turn this off, it's incredibly distracting, I don't understand why they thought this would be a welcome change, especially without a way to opt out. Can you please pass this on to the dev team @ZOS_Kevin? For those of us with sensory issues it's a big deal.

I didn't even notice it, so I don't care whether it stays or goes. What's with all the new sounds, though, like the thunder sound when digging for antiquities? Isn't there more important stuff to do, like fixing bugs that have been around for ages??

Oh you'd definitely notice the new menu scroll sound if you use the Gamepad UI. Someone would have to either play the game with no sound or be deaf in order not to hear it. And it's only in the Gamepad UI, it doesn't exist in the Keyboard UI...

I use the gamepad UI. I play with sound. I'm not deaf. :) And I really didn't notice it, maybe because it's common in other games to have a scrolling sound.

    Regarding this change:

Updated the Console UI Menus up/down scroll sound. New sound is snappier, less ear fatiguing, and more closely reflects Skyrim SFX.

@zos_kevin Could you please pass on to the devs the request that we want an option to turn this off in a future patch? The new sound is not an improvement for some of us (and I never heard anyone having a problem with the old scrolling sound either), it's actually a lot more ear fatiguing than the old one, as it's much louder, noticeable, with a faster repeating ticking sound. It's not a welcome change, so if we can at least have an option to disable this (right now the only option is to either turn off all interface volume). It would be really appreciated!

Yep, we have passed this on to the team. They are looking into options here. Nothing to report at the moment, but this has been passed on and the audio team is looking into a solution.

    Greetings,

This thread has been moved to the Bug Reports section, as it is better suited there.

    Thank you for your understanding.

This thread was not a bug report because the new gamepad menu scroll sound is not a bug... The new sound was an intended change, and it even says so in the patch notes.

Well thankfully Kevin already commented and said the team is looking into the new sound, because by moving this thread to the bug reports section it has now been condemned to die. :|
