Feature Request For Some Flying Pets

I think a new idle animation is in order for some flying pets that allows them to “roost” or at least sit on the ground when the player is not moving. I can buy into the idea that daedric or mythical/magical beasts have some kind of magic that allows them to flap about indefinitely, but things like your basic raven and especially the new Owl- it feels almost abusive and inhumane to have them flapping without rest. If I’m standing still, I’d expect my poor winged friend to take a breather like their counterparts actually do in nature. Owls in particular because of their body mass simply would not endlessly flap and hover non-stop. I love the owl companion but I had to unsummon it not because of it visually being annoying but I just feel bad for it (as silly as it sounds).

It speaks highly of the artists who created such realistic critter companions that the lack of a resting animation breaks immersion for players who empathize with them.

As I said, even if they just sat on the ground preening or did nothing at all, it would be a massive improvement.

    I certainly agree.

Flying creatures IRL do not flap incessantly as this would rapidly deplete their stamina, most of their flying time is spent gliding on convection currents; and they do most often perch on a nearby branch or rock. Hopefully in an optimistic future they will perch in-game on their owners shoulder or forearm.

I'm sorry to say but flappy is my most hated creature in-game and I hurry to complete my daily crafting writs so I can get out of town and into the wilderness to avoid these eyesores.

In the games 3-D environment the Winged Twilight often blocks my view and the constant flapping is rather tiresome to watch.
