Armor sets/builds for Werewolf?

I am curious as to what would be the best sets for Werewolf nowadays.

As a Khajiit Warden (Packleader morph) Werewolf, I've been using oakensoul ring, wretched vitality and pariah with Orzorga's Bear Haunch food and the Lover mundus.
With the different armor weights I can get around 5k weapon damage, 10k pen, 30k resists with 35k health and 2k mag/stam regen ((with wretched proc)).

I still don't last long against most meta builds though, so I was wondering what other wolves use?
And any other useful tips to share with fellow werewolves would be appreciated.

Is there a reason why Oaken would be good for wolfie? You get named buffs that you already obtain from WW form.

You do get buffs that are the same from Oakensoul; ie. Major Brutality/Sorcery, Minor Courage (if Packleader morph, gives Minor Courage to you and group mates, 10% dmg reduction), Major Savagery/Prophecy (if Ferocious Roar morph), Major Resolve, and Minor Endurance/Fortitude (with Hircine's Fortitude morph).

But you can use the Hircine's Rage morph for Major Beserk (instead of Hircine's Fortitude morph), Deafening Roar for Major Protection (instead of Ferocious Roar morph), and you also get from the Oakensoul ring: Minor Beserk, Minor Protection, Minor Force, Minor Mending, Minor Intellect, Minor Heroism, Minor Slayer, Minor Aegis and Empower.

I've tried Gaze of Sithis, Death Dealer's Fete, Shapeshifter's Chain, Markyn's Ring and other mythics, but I tend to get better survivability and results from Oakensoul. Those extra buffs from the ring just seem to click and help my playstyle better?

With Werewolf being so weak in attack (light/heavy attacks and skills always seem to lag), defense (takes extra dmg from poison and extra susceptible to stuns) and healing (high cost, low heals), I am always looking for builds to improve survivability and combat.

Anyways, in Cyrodiil, where everyone is a vampire (with the Undeath passive - reduced 30% dmg), I will always Run With The Pack! Howler's unite and fight the souless bloodsuckers!

If you're looking for more survivability, Mara's Balm is still a good set thanks to patching 1 area WW lacks (purge/healing over time), with one upside to being a warden WW is that you can naturally get the heal over time more frequently from MB while WW form is down thanks to netch.

It might be worth also looking into the saint and seducer mythic (buffs you and debuffs enemies at the same time like a combined mini - kynmarcher + daedric trickery), not as consistent at buffing you as oakensoul, but also debuffs enemies as well as providing buffs to you.

Honestly, there's a reason you don't see WW at all currently, ZOS has made the sub-class completely unplayable, so your best bet is to just wait and pray for an actual rework that actually buffs WW properly.

Outside of just waiting and praying for ZOS to finally resurrect WW, all I can suggest is just look into the meta sets, such as tarnished nightmare and other proc sets and play WW either as a fast paced proc stacking glass cannon kill or be killed build (probably better with berserker form) or lean all into tanking and just be as close to an unkillable nuisance as possible on WW (better with pack leader form).

Maybe fun sets like Rush of Agony, Hrothgar's Chill, Venomous Smite, or Ashen grip for like a thematic wolf build :)

Here's one that stuck out to me that does use oaken but yeah as others have stated it's really just not a great time for ww at the moment, harsh sustain to sustain your heals with little room left to really build into damage. Only really seems to get kills against bad players or in groups.

The only truly unique feature that Werewolf has left is 30% max stamina bonus. The rest of werewolf features are very easily accessible, so that is one of the reason why WW is not used in any content. There are just way too many obstacles to make WW build work vs any other build that can have "WW stuff" with minimal effort / opportunity cost & have other benefits on top without WW flaws & kiss-curses.

Many thanks for all the replies.

I don't have the Gold Road (scribing, etc.) or the last recent dlc's yet, so I'm out of luck on getting the newer sets like Tarnished.

But I will definately try out some of the posted ideas here when I'm able. I've already got a set of Mara's, so I'll retry going more tanky. (Rush of Agony looks fun too and sounds promising at anoying the constant ball groups)

I've tried Ashen grip, Hrothgars and Venomous Smite recently, along with sets like Way of fire, Plaguebreak and others, but they do so little damage (or nothing) against Sorc/Templar/Dk shields and h.o.a heals.

I think Khajiit has the worst passives and Warden is the worst class (unless committing entirely into magicka frost sets/skills which is useless for Werewolf) and Werewolf is the worst Ultimate ability to use,... but Washargo (Warden Werewolf) is my main character.

Yes, Washargo is weak, slow and not so smart, but Washargo will continue to fight... survive... and save as many as he can.
    For Queen Khamira and Elsweyr!

Try out an Orc, Sorc Bork werewolf, the damage and passives are considered best for werewolf.

Werewolf is more of a fun thematic flavor style of gameplay, it's not competitive against humanoid classes most times.

The Luca Cash build above with Hist Sap and Wretched may help you out.

My brawler…Pack leader, imperial, nightblade, thief mundas.

1 slim crawl, night mothers gaze, wretched vitality, shapeshifter chain. Sharpened maul or sharpened bow (for major expedition) All infused weapon damage jewerly or bloodthirsty or mix them.

64 points health, tri pots, tri food. Use morph with major savagery. Spread points if you have too for 20k magicka. Make sure to use foresight perk for more burst heals.

I like high crit chance for bigger heals since werewolf has good damage already.

    Or
Last aeylid king with major protection morph with lover Mundas.

Torc of the Last Ayleid King is basically meta for Werewolf. You need the sustain, damage, and mitigation.

Go Templar for more weapons damage and resistance along with being a wood elf you get added speed and penetration with stamina recovery.
