Is there any chance at all that ZOS loosens up on...

Naming and shaming exclusively on PVP matters concerning harassment? I feel like so much of this game be policed by its own player base. EP zone chat goes through it everyday on Grayhost NA PC, and I understand maybe tickets piled up for the support team and this is would be a way we can root out bad actors in this game that are only here to cause others Aggravation.

Most of those aggressors ultimate goal is attention, they thrive off reaction. Publicly naming them is only giving them what they want.

Public naming will get eyes on it, and action can be taken. Reports have done squat so far. Playing is a privilege not a right.

Please help me understand. English is not my first language. Google translate didn't help either... You want to name and shame players (in game chat, forum, youtube, social media etc), because you think the report system doesn't work?

So you're fine with someone who has an agenda against you slandering your player name in the forums, stating that you are doing something 'bad' that you never actually did?

    Interesting.

I don't think we should start naming players on the forums, but there's definitely a moderation problem when it comes to PvP zone chat. Disruptive narcissists who make zone chat unusable for hours on end do get mass reported over and over, but apparently nothing is ever done unless they say one of the Bad Words. This indeed did happen too, a notable toxic zerglord ruined zone chats for years and then the thing that finally gets him is a Bad Word in his group chat.

And unfortunately, he has multiple accounts across all three factions.

It is acceptable to be in different factions with two or more accounts in a locked silo deal, right? (This is a forum I've seen before and I don't know the truth.)

The toughest part is that the scrolls you have worked so hard to get back are dumped in the river, but also that 3 or more accounts in Zone chat clearly designate a different location to attack and abuse the conductor itself. I think it's ok though, because there are not many people there now.

Highly doubt Zos becomes lenient on the Naming and Shaming policy since the first victims would be the Devs.

Why don't you just tell them at your own risk?
You don't have to go through this forum. It's something you can say on your own social network or during the game. Everything is your responsibility.
Generally, only you know if it's malicious or not. Who's to judge what's wrong or what's good from a bird's eye view?

Just keep quiet and do it back at the end of the day is what I do.

The whole point of 'no naming and shaming' on the public forum, not just for PvP but anything related to in-game stuff (like say someone is accusing someone else of botting, or using a cheat engine, or gold selling) is to prevent innocent people from being targeted by people who dislike/hate/have an agenda against them.

Let's say I see someone advertising an item in Zone for like 50x it's normal price. I see someone else not familiar with pricing seem interested and I say "hey you don't wanna do that, that item never sells for that much, save your gold you'll find it a lot cheaper somewhere else".

Let's say the person trying to scam uninformed players gets really mad at me and doctors up some screenshots or something that paints me as the bad guy. Then they post those screenshots here to the forum and suddenly a bunch of people are calling me a jerk even though I hadn't done anything wrong and was actually helping someone.

If people were allowed to slander whoever they wanted publicly, it would just lead to witch hunts and a lot of headache for people who are just playing the game, minding their own business, or trying to help out fellow players. And it would be especially bad for PvP, where toxic players would try to get people mad at others over every conceivable thing.
    Character List [RP and PvE]:

Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts

Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood

That makes sense, definitely not the intention.

Mods can close the thread. I'd also like to invite anyone from the mod team, support team or whatever it may be to track EP zone for even one day, usually early morning, or whenever the hammer spawns this person changes accounts and starts berating zone not the best image to portrait for new players that might want to invest time into pvp.

I just send the ATT price to zone chat for those.

Same with players looking for 'bulk mats'. I assume that they need a price check...

On occasion, if I see someone advertising to buy bulk mats at a specific cost and am not otherwise busy doing something, I'll initiate a conversation with them to see if they're a crafter or just a reseller. If they're a crafter, I may give them some stacks in exchange for gold. I've made a few friends that way, been given tours of some awesome houses, and even received some nice crafted furnishings.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

    This is exactly it.

I play a couple of other games that are not MMOs (still online games) and they have what they call salt blogs associated with them. Not run by the developers/admins of the games, but by players.

There have been many times when someone has disliked someone else and said something about them on the blogs, then when others have gone to check, it turns out to be nothing at all. Things like, they will take the worst possible interpretation of what that person said, or they will take an action that is perfectly harmless and okay and blow it up, because they dislike it and so on.

The problem is that not everyone actually goes to check to see what that person has done. There are people who will just see something about 'X is a Scammer/cheater/whatever' and run with it, and that is the reputation that gets spread.

It would be even worse if it were allowed on the actual game forums, because that would be seen by a larger portion of the player base than a random salt blog somewhere. It would also potentially give credance to the words, because you would have poeple going 'well, they (the developers) wouldn't allow it to be said on public forums if it weren't true!'
