It would depend on the type of event. If it's something "combat-ish" then no. If a GM had been a "stand in" for what'shisname from the W Weald event, then maybe. In the long run, I'm REALLY tired of events (to the point I'm not doing anything until New Life, if then) so just in general, no.

I have played on PS/NA for several years and have never seen a GM.

I think would be a good thing to have a GM show up during an event, like Witches Festival. It would be good just to know they exist on PS/NA.

The last time I've seen a GM was 10 years ago when I was reporting bot accounts that were sliding across the ground through walls to complete quests for gold selling. I haven't seen them since. I would love for them to run an all day live stream event where they do basic stuff like normal dungeons/trials and BGs with the community so they can see how awful the game's performance has actually become. Maybe then something would actually get done since they won't be able to ignore the constant freezing, rubber banding, and disconnections on an official stream.

I can understand why GMs don't log in to play with the MMO player base today. I remember back in Anarchy Online around 2001, GMs would have events and show up to game anniversaries all the time. But when a GM shows up in games now they get harassed by players who think it's funny to do. I have seen this happen and the GM warned the player not to keep doing it or get banned. It was funny seeing that character go pop from the game.

I've never seen a GM run event in ESO, I don't know if they've ever done one. But in games I've played that did have them it goes one of two ways:

1) It happens as and when it's convenient for developers, so only on NA servers and in the middle of the night for Europe and Africa, meaning I've got zero chance of ever seeing it.

2) It's pre-planned and scheduled and then the event is 2/3 checking a website or social media for updates because there isn't a way to put the timing into the game and 1/3 hoping you catch the occasional glimpse of the NPCs/GM controlled characters and what's going on through the huge crowd of people all trying to be in the middle or spamming the most annoying animations they can think of (much like trying to do daily quests during the events we do get).

Either way it's a once-and-done thing so it can't be anything detailed or meaningful or have any special rewards, and anyone who isn't able to play on the GMs schedule doesn't get to join in at all.

That means for the majority of people the experience in a game with and without GM-run events is exactly the same - they never see them. For the people who do get to join in it's a more confusing and rushed version of what we already get. I understand the novelty can be amusing, but having done in a couple of times I much prefer being able to take my time playing stuff the developers were able to take time to make.
