Yaghra are a race of deep-sea creatures .... But not on the Endeavor?

Just ajust that, those creatures are, by essence, sea creatures, no?

I thought watery creatures were made of water, so I killed a wispmother and it worked.

My next option would be a nereid.

The endeavours always use weird categories for enemies. I'm pretty sure the categories were originally internal classifications they didn't expect players would need to know.

But yeah, "watery" means made of water, not just living in water.

Apparently frogs and salamanders are classified as reptiles. Not really complaining though since that make the endeavor able to be completed in IA.

Agreed, that's what they are and should be. The game counts them as reptiles for the endeavor we had last week. Unless maybe it counts them as both? I don't recall seeing a 'kill X amphibians" endeavor.

ETA: Yeah, no amphibian endeavor. But here's the listing for reptiles on UESP:
    Kill [5, 10] Reptiles
    • Kill haj mota, wamasu, and other monstrous reptiles to complete this endeavor. Hunt these cold-blooded beasts in the swamps of Black Marsh and jungles of Valenwood.
    • Alits, Kagouti, Durzogs, Giant Snakes, Salamanders, Hackwings, Bear-Lizards, Death Hoppers, Reef Vipers, Lesser Sea Adders, Sep Adders, Cliff Striders and Crocodiles also count.

On topic, watery foes on UESP doesn't really give alternatives to what the descriptions says, but it does give some locations:
    Destroy [5, 10] Watery Foes
    • Destroy wisps, nereids, and other watery foes to complete this endeavor. These mysterious creatures swirl across the frigid plains of Skyrim and swim in watery depths throughout Tamriel.
    • Can be found in Lower Craglorn, Weeping Giant, Grahtwood, Shada's Tear, Blackreach: Greymoor Cavern.

Go to the lake in Western Craglorn and kill the Whispmothers there.

Every enemy can seemingly belong to one classification and one classification only. Yaghra are "chitinous" and therefore cannot be "aquatic" or "watery" or anything else. Most enemies can reasonably fall under a bunch of categories, so it is a bit of a game-within-a-game to figure exactly which category they fall under. And if Yaghra counted as watery, then they would not count for the chitinous endeavor that comes up from time to time. So there is really no way to make the endeavors perfectly intuitive without allowing enemies to fall under multiple categories. And moving from a one-to-one relationship to a one-to-many relationship might be a hassle at the database level after all these years.

I understand most of the classifications, yet I still find it funny when the endeavor to kill a number of animals comes up, and wolves don't count.

Of course not. We are not wolf haters and they are protected.

I got mine in Imperial City. Apparently the ice shield Dremora conjure for defence is also a water creature.

Yeah, I completed 2 of the 3 endeavors in Imperial City and Cyrodiil, and decided to do the Nereid WB in Reaper's March for the 3rd. And then I read the description of the endeavor, and realized that all of those wisps I'd run past in northern Cyrodiil would have worked, too. D'oh!

    Anyway, "watery" =/= "water-dwelling."

I made a similar post a month or so ago. They really need to update these classifications.

    Possibly controversial opinion:

Argonians, including player Argonians, should count as "reptiles" for the Kill X Reptiles quests.
