(Request) Can we have a mount which ignores the speed upgrades?

This might seem like an odd request. But here goes.

Sometimes I like to take things a bit slower and just explore quietly, especially in a new zone... but walking is too slow. If you're playing on mouse and keyboard, there is no way to control your mount speed other than toggling "walk"... And with all the upgrades (and the 30% skill point), your mount just flies through the world at break-neck speed.

It would be nice to have a "slow" mount which has some kind of anti-buff which ignores all speed upgrades, i.e., ignores your 30% buff and also ignores your upgrades that you buy at the stables. This would allow me to slow things down a bit as I'm exploring a new DLC area, for example.

I mean yes, it's easy enough to just keep "walk" toggled on, but it would be nice to have an option somewhere in the middle... so I could trot quickly to my destinations without blasting through everything at light speed.

I think the stick horses do that. They are stick horses though…

They are mounts, but they ignore the speed ability, so you go very slow riding them

This would be the kind of thing I'd want... but not goofy as hell

The idea is for greater immersion, not less. But it's good to know that it's possible.

I'd want something like this, but with a plain horse or something.

I always thought there should be a Snail mount. A mount that can't exceed mount speed 10.

I usually keep my skill point out of Continuous Assault specifically for this reason.

When I'm in Cyrodiil, I'll put it in. But my Armory loadout specifically keeps that point out because I don't like riding around too quickly.

I'd prefer them to add a way for all mounts to move slower.

It's possible on consoles because they have analogue movement controls, so you just push the stick more gently to move slower, but on PC your only options are walk, run and sprint and with all the upgrades run is often too fast, but walk is the slowest they can possibly move, which is often too slow.

I think my ideal (short of buying something that's still mostly a keyboard/mouse but has an analogue stick I could use for movement) would be the option to have 3-5 additional run speeds with a key to switch between them. So you start moving and you're at the current run speed, then push a button and it slows down, push it again and it slows down again, and so on, until you hit the current walk speed, then if you push it again you're back to full speed.

My elf's upgraded mare is scary fast when running. Riding her at a walk though is quite nice - a pretty quick walk but slow enough to smell the nightshade and enjoy the scenery. And very notably faster than walking on foot.

Maybe they can bring back the Oblivion horse armor to affect the riding speed.

Just don’t get the assault mount speed passive and that horse is slow even with the max soeed upgrade of 60.

Id love to see a mount thats like a Guar or Camel where it increases your carry capacity but only while you have that mount equipped. And as it has to compensate for the extra inventory, its speed drops and could either ignore the speed upgrade entirely, or just cut its Speed to 30, so it's slower, but not incredibly slow.

I'm trying to organize a goofy night in Cyrodil where my group rides around wearing nothing but the nord towel and riding the stick horse. It's a hard sell though because of the slow mount speed. Zos really needs to give them normal mount speed so that they are more "practical."
