PvP is a garbage game

There are just a billion bugs and shortcomings. The enemy is 1500 kilometers away from me, and I take damage from him. What kind of crazy nonsense is this? Nightblade should be banned from appearing in PvP until they completely remove its invisibility, or make it reload in a minute.

Agree, invisibility has multiple easy counters. Slot (and use) Magelight/Expert Hunter, and inexperienced nightblades become completely defenseless (I'm one of them). I pvp with every class, some more than others, nightblade being somewhere in the middle. Every now and then I get to enjoy the feeling of two-shotting another player with a clean gank, but most the time I need to run and hide (and fail doing so in time). Creating a build that can melt a player is the easy part, but don't underestimate the amount of skill it takes to survive long enough to kill another one...

Bad NB is characterized by relying only on cloak and its invisibility.
NB has several powerful skills in its toolset and cloak serv for them to craft opportunity they need to use it.

NB is S-tier class and asking somebody to play it without experiences with it, dont make sense.
    PvP - Recruit.
    PvE - Dragon food
RPG - A guy who thought, that he can defeat daedric prince, yet guards still chase him off when he accidentally touches some object during daily writs.

I actually don't think some one will have S-tier performance just by picking a class. NB in particular always was a "high skill cap" class, meaning that in order to get good performance out of the class, you also needed a lot of experience & practice. If someone wants to have a good performance in PvP, then it would be actually easier to pick Sorc as they not only perform better than NB (and this will be even more true next patch) but also sorc does not seem to have very high skill cap. I mean, sure it takes "some" skill, but It is relatively easy to get decent-to-good performance out of sorc vs nb.

Nightblades can be countered by a lot of things, and a lot of those things are easy to get. Detect potions, Expert Hunter/Magelight, etc,. If you do find yourself trying to fight someone who's clearly sweatier/more skilled than you, it's okay to just leave.
If you yourself are a constant target of gankers, you're probably not having a good build for PVP. What works in PVE does not always translate well to PVP. You need more than 20k health, more than the resistances of a wet sponge, and proper sets/traits/champion points/etc. You also have to learn how to avoid being such a tasty target to them. Don't be out of the zerg so far. Don't sit outside keeps afk. Don't repair walls outside a keep. Gankers pretty much go for the easiest prey.

You can learn a lot about killing other classes by playing with them, because cloak isn't the only way nightblades can gain lots of distance. Another way is to cast shadow image, follow the target a ways, attack, then teleport back to the shadow to deny gap closers.

Back when the only terror skill nightblades used was mass hysteria, you could put manifestation of terror down under your shadow, do the above, and the people that never played nightblade didn't know what it was and jump right into it, then ask about it after. Granted, that didn't last long.

I am OK with NBs the way they are. Does it suck to get killed by them? Yes. But same with every class.

But ZOS comes out with updates that re balances or biases. Camo Hunter is pretty handy!

Can't wait for Jabs as a siege weapon!

Nightblade is a very powerful class that takes a lot of practice and skill to play well. I love my NB's for their versatility, but it is not an easy class.

I agree, I have occasionally played NB and it is not an easy class to master, if there were a class change token I would likely convert my main to a NB. (Can't be bothered to do all skill shard/skill point hunting)

"Agree, invisibility has multiple easy counters"

You and everybody that hold this opinion are unbelievably delusional to a point where I legit can't tell if you have ever played PVP. Magelight and Expert Hunter are ineffective to a point where I'm not entirely sure if they even work at all. Stealth detect pots seem to only work half the time. I'll be fighting yet another permastealth NB whos directly on top of me, pop a detect pot in a field with no immediate LOS and he's just not there, gone, vanished. It gets worse, before the detect even expires the NB is attacking me again weaving in and out of stealth while I'm unable to even land a couple skills/spells on him. If I manage to stun them and get a couple licks in by the time they hit execute range they are gone. Please explain to me how you counter that? You can't. They have complete dominance over when and where they can fight you and there is absolutely nothing that you can do to stop them. Any other opinion is incorrect and cannot be taken seriously.

Cyrodiil is a separate topic. It's gloom and doom there. Yesterday I went to the server without hero points and the whole Cyrodiil was captured by the Dominion, all because there is no one from my alliance and the red alliance at all. No one goes there.

What's the point of going there at all if the enemy cannot be defeated completely?

When khajiit sees someone call themselves "TheBest" his innate contrary kicks into play, and every statement is automatically negated as it is read (no offense intended, it is just how this one is wired).

In that light, khajiit agrees with many of your (now negated) statements.

It's not about nb itself. What should be nerfed are some imbalanced proc sets like Tarnished Nightmare. No skill required but insanely strong, giving rise to some cringe gankers.
We can't complain much about this tbh since ALL IS FAIR IN WAR.

War is Cyrodiil. There should be complete freedom there. Battlefields are a competition, there should be strict rules and prohibitions so that everyone is equal and shows their mastery of the game for this class. And mastery does not mean endless diving into invisibility every second, but defeating the enemy so that he does not understand how it happened, while he sees you.

Khajiit is too cowardly and weak to go into a fair fight without invisibility and 400% increase in ability damage, as well as a constant crit buff from an ability that is not in the active panel)

100% agree, PVP now is just a bunch of Nightblade with one shot sneaky build and go invisible as soon you try to fight back. How fun could it be ? No classes should be able to go invisible IMO. PVP should be more brutal and should force players to engage the enemy closer, but the meta right now is the opposite. And in the other side you have bomber build that wipe an entire group with 2 or 3 combined attack without any skill needed. Again this should not be allowed in the game.

You are correct about PvP being unbalanced but not for the reasons you point out. It’s much deeper than that. The reasons PvP is a mess is due to the following:

    1. Base 50% Critical Damage:
This is the primary reason PvP can’t be balanced. 50% extra damage on a critical is tons if you don’t have critical resistance. Which means you’re running Impen or Impregnable. One takes up an entire 5 piece set and the other eliminates any other armor trait (although well fitted has its niche uses). There are CP passives. but in non-cp and BG, running base Crit resistance is a death sentence.

    2. Overpowered proc sets. Tarnished Nightmare is a serious issue right now but this is nothing new. At some point a set has come along to break the PvP meta. In the past it has been Viper’s Sting and Calurion’s Legacy. There is always some nonsense set that everyone abuses until it’s nerfed and a new set takes its place.

    3. Upgraded gear. This might not seem huge since the disparity between purple and gold might not seem much. However, build and skill being equal. Gold will come out on top, so it does make a difference at top PvP skill levels.

    4. Healing is way too strong and defile is way too weak. Healing has 2 separate buffs that augment it. Healing done and Healing taken. Whereas defile only affects healing taken. There is no healing done debuff. This can make a group with a good healer extremely difficult to deal with as in some cases, a healer ends up being more tanks than an actual tank.

    5. Certain skill being too strong and overused. Personally, I think stealth is fine but the burst from stealth can be quite abusive. Especially the ease of escape. The current “fix” has made stealth stronger not weaker. Personally, I would give it a 4 second CD once broken. But remain permanent until that point with no cost. This way you wouldn’t have resource concerns while running around but breaking stealth has a survivability cost. Also Dawnbreaker of Smiting is often an “I win” button for a lot of builds. Same with DK leap.

    6. DoT’s are underpowered. I’m not talking sticky single target DoT’s here. I’m talking AoE DoT’s. They pose little to no threat in any PvP content, even when stacked. Winter’s Revenge is an exception if you can maintain high chill procs. But even then it can be healed through. Personally, AoE DoT’s need a significant buff to make them a threat and actually act as a zone control tool.

    7. Tank builds are tough to kill and a nuisance in objective based maps. Domination can be a nightmare if an unkillable tank is turtling up on a flag. They don’t need to deal damage in such game modes and they can’t be ignored either. Oblivion Damage is meant to deal with tanks but it is too weak when one person is running it and too strong when multiple people are running it. Making it very difficult to balance well.

I could go on. But really the main culprit is Critical Damage and it always will be unless they readdress either Crit Damage or Crit Resistance.

Personally I would have Critical Resistance be based on 15% of the average Spell and Physical Resistance.

    E.G.

    Spell Resistance = 20783

    Physical Resistance = 20057

    Average = 20420

    Critical Resistance = 3063

I would then have a cap on Critical Resistance of about 5000 so it can’t be stacked too high.

This is assuming that base 50% Critical Damage remained. If it got reduced to 25%. Then Critical Resistance could remain as is.

I would also change Impen to reduce the damage of DoT’s and status effects.

    Gold pieces

    Large pieces 4%

    Small pieces 2.5%

Then I would change nirnhoned on weapons to increase the damage of DoT’s.

    Two Handed:

    15% for Single Target DoT’s
    30% for AoE DoT’s

Then players wouldn’t have to worry about Critical Resistance as much instead they would need to choose what to defend against. Direct Damage and avoid AoE DoT’s or increase defences vs dangerous AoE Dot’s but lose direct resistance.

This would achieve so much for the game. Reducing tankiness, make healing tougher, make the PvP game more tactical, reduce the absolute necessity for Critical Resistance stacking, reduce the ability to nuke people in one shot and finally make more sets that are currently underused more viable in PvP.

As a bonus it would make Nirnhoned viable in PvE too.
