The devs have always indicated that wasn't going to happen. That could change in future, but it might not be something that would be "quick" or "soon".

Yeah, it's been a long time - and apparently was in a stream (which someone posted about here on the forum IIRC) which I don't watch, so I only know what was said after on here.

Besides, can you imagine if something goes wrong with this? The PTS spring fiasco comes to mind (along with how much time it took to sort out).

If this were everything then it wouldn’t be too bad, but things like achievements take a while to redo, especially if you have 10 years worth of them. Also all my Crown houses would be lost and all Crown furnishings. All the style pages and furnishing plans would be lost as well, and I have a significant number of them learned. At this point it would not be worth it to me to restart, given how the direction of the game has currently been going.

As with many things, there are probably multiple factors here about which we can only speculate. There may be significant roadblocks beyond the technical. And while each issue may be surmountable theoretically, how feasible it is to get past all of them is not something we can accurately access with how little info we have.

There are probably contractual issues, why would the console platform providers agree to their customers being poached for ZOS's PC servers, especially as it would be a one-way move with console players going to PC and not vice versa.

It would also leave the console servers even emptier, with not everyone wanting or able to move to PC, and the PC servers would be overloaded while it's not as if they don't have performance issues under the current load as it is.

Finally, there's the bottom line, as always. Would the extra revenue made/retained by allowing platform transfers be sufficient to make overcoming all the technical, legal, and other hurdles financially viable?
