What is the benefit of reaching lvl 50 in a crafting skill ?

I mean no offense to this question. I'm just curious whether there is any benefit to being a level 50 crafter vice ( for instance, a lvl 47 ).

I just hit lvl 50 clothing today and am scratching my head wondering What can I do differently than I couldn't at ( insert random number here ). I do know that the passive skills require certain levels in your skill before they can be learned..... however, with Clothing for instance, the highest passive skill requires level 32 clothing. Any thoughts ?

Thanks.

40 is the highest, no? For crafting v10. And it does not matter unless they will add more lvls later.

They are adding more levels later. This much has been confirmed, as they said they're keeping crafting gear up alongside dropped gear in Craglorn. Since the dropped gear can be up to V12 (and V10 will no longer be the top level), so will the top-end crafting gear. Chances are they'll be adding a new material and have level 45 be the crafting level requirement to use it.

As for now, there's no reason to go beyond 40 in most crafts.

    Vandril is correct.

Although I would argue that its not worth going over 40. Theres just no need to right now. Just deconstruct everything you get until you get to 50.

50 means you don't have to keep so many mats around for that profession

Appreciate the insight folks. I still say that after that much work to get to 50 in a craft skill, they should at the very least give you an option to select a new associated title. Oh well...

Well...It is not like you can stop leveling, even if you wanted to no longer level after X amount of levels short of 50.

You started crafting so you could make things, after all.

For me, it's like Everest. I'm going to get 50 in all of them, because it's there!

I have to max it, it's in my nature, there is no benefit at the moment. There will be a benefit in the future.

I want to eventually make my own legendary set gear of some sort. The only thing falling behind is my smithing, because I think I'd rather off-wield a destro staff than a 2-H sword (though I'm still researching for those just in case.)
