Toxic Whispers & Zone Chat

Toxic whispers are almost always done in OFF LINE mode. This is a simple one to fix. You can't send tells if you are OFFLINE. Fix this. Would literally take less than 10 lines of code to implement this. Cowards sending out toxic tells while off line simply should NOT be allowed.

You need a zone chat filter like Blizzard has. It won't let you send zone chat messages more than 2 every few minutes. Say 3 messages in zone chat stops players from spamming more messages for 5 minutes. More than 10 messages in 20 minutes gets 1 hour mute. More than 20 messages in 1 hour gets 3 day mute.

Have some restrictions for GH campaign. No zone chat for first 10 days AFTER joining a campaign. No zone chat for characters under lvl 50.

You can also whisper people you block, but haven't blocked you back. You can also see people you have blocked on the guild roster as online/offline etc. The block function needs some work, if I block someone, that means I don't even want to see their existance in the game, on guild roster, overworld, chat etc... Just make them disappear.

I agree to the first part, when off-line you can't use chat. I disagree with the rest. People do have conversations in chat, you don't have to read every word posted.

At least put in a filter like Blizzard has that limits the number of messages you can type in zone chat. ZOS could check and see exactly what that limit is in WOW. I think it's more than 2. This would limit the mindless chatter and players could see important calls. Of course a lot immediately put such spammers on ignore. But the ignore list needs to be expanded. Doubled to 200.

So if I switched campaigns I couldn’t call out attacks on keeps and such for at least a third of the campaign? 😐 Whitestrake’s Mayhem would end up with the entire population of the map muted for anyone who didn’t want to sit in the queue for a preexisting campaign. And no one in the under 50 specific campaign can talk ever? Hard disagree.

At least put a filter that doesn't let TROLLS clutter the channel. Blizzard has liimits to keep spammers from controlling zone chats. Or expand our ignore list to 200.

And STOP anyone from whispering in OFF LINE mode. IF they send a tell, allow the receiver to return a tell. Because of course, these toxic players will quickly turn off line. You shouldn't have it both ways. If you send it out, you should have to receive it back.

Unfortunately I learned the other day that people can still whisper you while you can't whisper them back. Person was either off line or had blocked me and continued to spew vitriol at me. (Random BG player who was blaming the group while not contributing anything more than anyone else.) If you have someone blocked, you should NOT be able to whisper them either.

This is what I want ZOS to implement.

I wish they'd kill the ability to whisper someone when set "Offline"...but not for the same reasons.

My reason is that I'm a moron that forgets I that set myself offline, then wonders why someone isn't replying to my whispers. :)

You're not alone in that lol, I use a little addon called "safe whispers" that warns you in chat if you attempt to whisper someone while offline.

They really should just disable the ability to whisper people while offline though.

(And certainly you shouldn't be able to whisper someone you've blocked, that one feels super obvious to me and I actually had always assumed that was how it worked).

You know...I wondered to myself after I posted if there was an addon for that. Thanks for the tip! Obvi it would be better to be built into the game, especially for our console brethren.
