Auto-Loot Keeps Turning Off Automatically

After I logged on to a new pc, I had to adjust the settings. So I located Settings-Gameplay-Autoloot and turned it on.

Then wierd things happened: I doubled checked if I had actually turned it on-yes, I had. Then I set off to a resource node to test it out, but it didn't work as expected-'automatically'.

Instead, it automatically set my autoloot to 'OFF'. I repeated this process several times and confirmed it a bug. It's like some setting stuff didn't hook up and got activated, or there's some enigmatic threshold preventing the game from doing so.

Has been like that on Playstation for years. Some settings just reset every time you log in. I had to turn on the camp radius in Cyrodiil for many months every time. Same with guildtraders, audio settings, and some other stuff.

I don't think anyone will acknowledge your problem as a bug. This ony happens very rarely, when it's extremely obvious and gamebreaking. Instead customer support will ask you to reinstall the game, delete/reset some stuff and try a lot of crazy things until it gets magically fixed with an update in a few months or years. Without anyone talking about it. If you are lucky.

    That's quite annoying indeed.

My file was not set to read-only, and other settings could be done without problem while this auto-loot seems out of line.

My file was not set to read only. I deleted the UserSettings.txt file and restarted twice. Still does not work properly. Every time I switch characters, reloadui, or relog I have to manually redo the setting

    Solved for me:
I had an addon interfering with the base game setting. LootDrop>General Options>Hide Default Loot History.
Hope this helps someones frustration :)
