Smarter Companion Logic Please!

Doing so Oblivion Portals so many times shows that many companions are a waste there. They can often stand right in the immediate damage field and quickly become useless. I regularly see a pile of dead companions right next to the main boss at the end.

Please give them a bit of logic to back off enough to not just get out of ground effects like there. My scamp seems to also be just as stupid BTW.

But standing in a long-term kill zone is even more stupid than we should expect.

I noticed I can't keep my clannfear alive in the portal. I finally just stopped resummoning it while doing the final boss.

I can understand getting killed with all the fire zones, but it would help if companions and pets were smart enough to at least move out of an ongoing flame area!

My ranged builds have better life expectancy, so they can often stay more alive than the idiot ones that run right into those areas and stay in them!

Ranged companions suck on World Bosses. They often take the boss out of agro range and reset them. On some build I've resorted to putting a taunt on just to prevent it from happening if someone shows up with an idiot companion.

Yeah, I think the only companions I took to that particular fight were my ranged ones, so they survived, but that clannfear, I couldn't even see what was killing it, just summon, two seconds later, resummon.

Finally realized it was NOT going to stay alive, so stopped worrying about it and just focused on killing things.

Better companion/pet AI would be wonderful.
