Is there an addon to avoid 40k nightblade stealth one shots?

Option 5: Miat's PvP Alerts addon. Makes a "ding" sound when a unique new player initiates combat with you, e.g. when they attack you. I imagine this is based on the combat log API, which means it coincides with whatever the attack sound is, such as the scream from Incap. In practice I find the Miat sound happens fractionally earlier or perhaps it's the consistency of that sound I like, regardless of the type of attack. When you hear the Miat sound, you dodge roll or you block. This will often allow you to avoid a gank, but you need to be on a hair trigger at all times.
I don't remember correctly but ... didn't non-public version of Miat's pvp alerts detect hidden players? (I think even when he didn't attack)
I know that i read something about clear cheating with this addon. But I don't remember if it was doable because it was in useable API or it was something "special"

"I got killed by X, nerf X", here we go again, old friend.

You were the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time doing the wrong things, or any combination of some of those.
It won't happen anytime you encounter a Nightblade, and not every attack by a (or even that specific) Nightblade will end with the same result.

Not every nightblade but if you build for this you can pull this off very consistently. So certain nightblades can do it every time, there is absolutely no randomness in this.

It is simple math, you are hitting a standing player without they knowing you are there. Your burst can do 30k+ dmg without giving any cue. How different will be the results?

It IS a part of pvp in ESO. Has been for a good long while. If you don't like being ganked, you can either as outlined above: play your own ganker, gear up to be (mostly) an unkillable tank, or maybe BGs would suit you more. Or some other pvp game.

What kind of answer is that, it is not part of ESO PvP, it has to be gone, with addons or with anything else. It makes the PvP scene simply worse, with only negative impact to the gameplay. It is not a tool or feature, with its current state it is just way for bad players to get some satisfaction and a griefing method for any other fair pvp player.

You could as well include a debuff in Battle Spirit: "While in Cyrodiil, every second there is 1% chance you die instantly". Because this is how it works. What kind of screwed up PvP gameplay mechanic is that?

And no, i want to play anything other than 40k hp with 50% dmg reduction, i dont want to hit like wet noodles, just because there is this guy with 15k hp hiding just behind me all the time.

Yes, I would rather not use this addon.

    1) No, there's no "non-public" version of Miats that can still detect players. ZOS literally removed the API that allowed addons to do that. An add-on cannot communicate with the server to get that information anymore. If someone is detecting you while invis without the use of in-game mechanics, they're using Cheat Engine, not an addon.

    2) Again, ZOS explicitly allows certain APIs. Miat's simply plays a noise when a new attacker appears in the combat log, which has been explicitly allowed, or it wouldn't be able to do so. The noise happens at nearly the same time as Incap, and only really alerts you to the "bad" gankers that might poke you sooner than their actual combo.

I play ESO on PS/NA, and I am finding this thread sadly funny.

Folks play ESO PvP every day on console servers. No add-ons. Build for NB gankers, or die to them.

Ah thank you very much for the explanation.
I read it long time ago and decide to not use it.
So afterall if it API allows it I don't have any problem now

they are just looking for anyone under 35k hp standing still in cyrodiil and clicking two buttons, one for cloak and one for incap, doesnt look like rocket science to me.

I have played rogues and feral druids since 2005 and nightblades since about 2019. I can tell you quite certainly, we love it when you stand still. We also like to study your movement habits so we can anticipate when you stand still. Moving in an unpredictable fashion can help you a lot.

Learning to play a stealthie is also a great way to learn how to counter us. That's how I got started after dying constantly to a particular rogue. If you can't beat them, join them and then beat them.

Anyway, i have actually tried Miat, you get a visual and sound cue when someone attacks you out of blue and can confirm it is actually very useful. I think i dont need to get 45k hp and pariah set and major protection for this problem, looks like it is solved xD And it is also not every time but on the initial hit, so you still dont know if a nb will hit you during actual combat. Looks perfect for a healthier pvp gameplay!

I play on Xbox now so no addons period. But there is a thing already mentioned called detect pots. Detects nbs in stealth up to 130ish feet away. Buy/make hundreds of those and pop them like candy.

Corn Flower + Torchbug Thorax + Lady's Smock = Detection + Increase Spell Power + Restore Magicka
Corn Flower + Wormwood + Columbine = Unstoppable + Detection + Restore Magicka
Corn Flower + Wormwood + Lady's Smock = Detection + Increase Spell Power + Restore Magicka

Use the top or bottom versions that don't use Columbine unless you're rich and don't mind spending tons of gold.

There are addon with combat alerts for things like snipes and grim focus--I think they should be against the ToS for PvP. But, it's just something to have to play around on your gank build.

Some of you answer with the most basics when there is a pvp thread, you do not need to automatically assume that you have more experience in pvp than the thread starter. I have around 2k hours solo only in cyrodiil with every class in the game, and i stopped playing for around 2 years until last year. At this point there is nothing really anyhing in the game that one knows better than the other. This is just as a side note.

I CLEARLY said that Miat's USED to be the type of add on OP was inquiring about BUT it had changed to meet ZOS's requirements.

SO in answer to question, since that version of Miat's had a REQUIRED adjustment, I doubt there is another add on that would do what you are asking (and yes I played during that 6 months it worked but it got CHANGED).

The problem with building tanky is that the nightblades start grouping up with other nightblades and Xv1 you with gank attacks. :D

Maybe you just need to find a PvP group?

I realize I am going off topic from the original question, but I see the same advice here as ever. I think people usually give good advice on this but I also think most people are bad at giving advice.

You need about 30-32k health, 2 hots and a burst heal. Build into enough regen that you can continuously cycle your defensive buffs and hots and keep at/near full resources. Have a solid defensive bar and stay there when not casting. If you get hit from out of nowhere while offensive, immediately go defensive (at least until you get a feel for your limits).

    Defense solved.

Offense. Yes, detect pots, but not just any time. Figure out where in your burst that gankers go stealth. You will likely lose this offensive action to a roll dodge anyway. You want to hit your potion when it maximizes the time they spend at low health trying to cloak with it active. 95% of gankers dead right there, the bulk of the others running away.

Yes, you will still run up against brawlers going for a gank and teams of nightblades, but you aren't going to win every battle regardless. Your goal is a better play experience, not to win every fight. Once you learn to avoid the majority of the ganks, you can worry about other things.

    Add-ons for PVP?

Man, I cut my teeth on Xbox/NA and some of y'all would be miserable playing on console.

Just build to counter the ganker, improve your HP pool and HP regen or learn to use skills/pots/sets that spot stealth. Pull your camera out as far as it can go, playing with a tight cam in PVP is a death sentence.

So, can i somehow detect it via addons? Maybe showing people in proximity or showing attacks on screen, so i can block them? I just see (20k incap + 7k tarnished + 5k crushing shock + 2 light attacks, + 1 status dmg) = 40k dmg on my death recap and after that i see the nb for a brief moment. Absolutely no sound or visual clue before i see the death recap. This is not very enjoyable. Thanks for any help!

P.S: I have 30k hp, 20k+ resistances with 1.5k crit res in bare minimum, these stats are by choice and i have no problem in engaging in open fights in cyrodiil solo.

35k health and 30k resistances should be the target for anyone in PvP who doesn't want to get one shotted by the GROSSLY OP NB's now days. Why ZOS keeps buffing NB when they are already S-tier remains a mystery.

If an addon did it,it would be cheating. There's already detect skills, and potions for that as others said, load up,or get more stam/mag to continuously spam em. Sea Serpent's Coil is also a godsend for less chance of getting oneshotted.

Just remember everyone deals with the same challenge, build balance. If you want to be able to kill lots of people you'll have to build almost all into offense which will make you susceptible to attacks and you'll die easily. Or you can build into all defense and good luck killing anyone. It's all a balancing game and we all play by the same rules.

If you're dying easily it's because you don't have enough defense. Adjust your build and your use of the anti-stealth solutions and problem solved. If you choose not to well then... Guess things will be the same for you. Sorry

The amount of NB mains in this thread defending their absurd burst is comical.

Like mentioned already, using detect pots is wonderful but of course it doesn't stop the gank if you don't know they are there. However, it not only exposes the NB obviously but also reveals the amount of players who have no clue what to do when they are exposed. Most just panic making them easy AP.

This was with 20k resistances, 1.5k crit resist and 30k health. And again you see the player only after death recap and of course you dont hear anything, and Miat addon didnt help, as well.

I propose a change so that you cant drop such a combo to initialize (and also end) a fight:
A Fitness CP Champion Bar Passive that gives you one time x% incoming dmg reduction while at full Health and can not be used again in x seconds after activation.

If you are on a horse, you are usually dead. ZOS allows you/your horse to get stunned, then there is the animation of getting off, then you have to equip your weapon.
Your best chance is to hit light attack the second you hear the broken glass. That equips your weapon and dismounts at same time. Then you can try dodge roll or a defensive skill.

Sorcs have a useful skill called defensive rune. It last 2 minutes. This stuns the would be ganker. Works pretty well.

DKs used to have a great ability called wings. Now that ranged meta is so strong and risk free, they should bring back old wings for the downtrodden melee. Wings used to kill ranged attackers. Was great fun.

If you hear the broken glass in combat, dodge roll. For the Sorc gank, it is crystal weapon + tarnished + anthemir. The anthemir is slightly delayed. If you dodge roll it, the other componets usually cant kill you.

NB has the most OP skill in the game, Merciless resolve. It hits harder than any ultimate , it gives free weapon damage, uses almost no resource cost, and it heals. It is ridiculous, but ZOS ignores this. If you get hit from stealth with tarnished+heavy+ merciless resolve, and the NB is close enough to do an Incap, there isnt much you can do, if you're 35k health or under.

While those numbers are absurd, I would recommend bumping your resistances up. At LEAST 25k armor, 2.5k impen and even more health if running light armor. Its why rallying cry is so popular. You can build your armor traits into reinforced and still have high armor.
