Are there any plans to remove hybridization?

When I came back to ESO I noticed that builds looked very strange. For example, why would I use a set like Relequen on my MagSorc?
At first I found the fact that everyone can now use stamina and magicka sets and skills with no problem pretty interesting. But it sadly got old pretty fast. Everyone just runs double daggers with a 2h backbar and medium armor. Even the skills are 90% the same between the two specs. I might actually stop playing again just for this.
Whats more, for a 10 year old mmo ESO already has extremely few classes with just 7 - in the past that could be excused, since every class had a mag and a stam setup. But now every build looks and plays the same.
Are there any plans to change this in the near future? Dont get me wrong, I absolutely dont mind swords and medium armor melee infighting being meta - on stam classes that is. I really miss my double destro light armor glasscannon setups

There’s nothing stopping you from double destroing in light armor. It’s not meta, but it’s not as bad as people make it out to be as long as you can source enough crit. Don’t need meta for most things anyways. In cases where you would need meta, you’d be a stamarc (med armor, daggers fb, inferno bb) or a specific support dps (wm cro, ec cro, mk sorc, z’ens/alkosh dk) anywho.

Even when there were clear distinctions between mag and stam builds, it was either mag or stam would be the meta way to play a class. There was and always will be a meta way to play each class, but hybridization opens up options for viability. Just don't worry about being meta.

I mean, yes, nothing is stopping me from doing that exactly, but I like to play as optimal as I can...
Oh, and there is no place to actually find out what a good light armor setup would be. Like, do I bust out the old Siroria?
And dont get me started on the Arc, its soooo boring, I can literally press beam and take my hands off the keyboard midfight.

I don't believe ZOS ever reverted something as big, and a lot of players seem to enjoy the results, so it is very unlikely that it's going to change.

The only think we can hope for is nerf to daggers (looooong overdue...) and medium armor.

The only light armor meta-ish set is Whorl of depts.

It took them years to make the hybridization and adjust everything so most setups / classes / skills feel most likely the same.
I don't think they`ll ever revert or remove hybridization, as zos and the devs are very very proud of the outcome.

But what to pair with whorl? Aegis doesnt really make sense, or am i wrong? Relewuen does seem like a waste with the 2 3pc bonuses overlapping...

Depends on the class. Deadly is great for Arcanist or Templar. Runecarver is great for DK and Necro (though it would be better to have runecarver on body and run whorl front). Pillar and Aegis are both solid sets to run as is Order's Wrath to offset the lack of crit damage. Sul-Xan is also amazing if the fight allows for you to pick up the souls (though I would rather pair it with something that isn't a trial set).

Light armor is definitely a solid option to go for if you don't know if you have an alkosh in your group, or a tank using Crimson + Tremor. So in pugs, overland and dungeons light armor is not far behind if at all to medium.

I'm sure there are other sets I've forgotten to mention, but there are a lot of options to choose from even if you don't want to use medium on body.

Aegis makes sense, especially on sorc, but only if you can consistently keep it up.
Deadly will work for arca and plars.

Otherwise, if your base is light armor, most recommended sets will get you similarly mediocre results in optimized groups.

I guess you're right - but considering who we are talking about I'd say the probability of it getting removed or reverted is way higher than the chance they will "complete" it xD

    Arcanist is a fun tank.

But I mainly PvP. I like hybridization. My PvP characters can use skills of either resource.
Like my stamina bowplar can use radiant destruction. I don't care much about PvE.

Maybe they should just buff light armour and other weapon skill lines.

I find tanking in itself very unfun though...I dont know, having an ability that just gives me aggro in my mind is just boring and [snip] design. Dont get me wrong, I have 2 tanks (DK and Necro) but I that was mostly for when my old friends/guildies needed a fill. Most of the content is just press taunt every 14 seconds and wait.

And don't get me started on PvP. I do not touch that ***. Took me years to make a stam char jsut cause I didn't want to farm caltrops. I hate PvP in MMOs in general, but I an (could) bear with it in games like Tera where the combat system is fun. I guess if I were to play any MMO to do PvP it'd be BDO or nothing - but at that point why not play a real PvP comp game like LoL.

I first thought stam chars using mag skills was pretty cool too, but now it just annoys me. Like, I have a MagSorc and a StamSorc - but whats the point? both use the same gear, the same skills the only difference is one has magicka encahts, the other stamina enchants. Great design.

And I dont know if buffing light armor will do the trick, or if it will just turn the meta around and stamchars would now use light armor, that wouldnt fix the problem at all

You could make the new armour passives based on max Magicka so only Magicka Characters would really benefit.

Don't call it hybridisation: the would would suggest that they had introduced a third way to make DD characters beyond just stamina and magicka.
What it really is is Homogenisation. Everything has now been squished into a single meta.
