Or cause anguish to its owner watching it flap frantically..... which owls don't do so much anyway. Glide and swoop....

Just stumbled upon this post... yeah the endless flapping is frustrating, it's very cute otherwise and I'm glad it's "free".

I've been asking to please let the flying pets sit (surely they use the same rig as the Crows, etc who sit) but who knows if it's even on their surely endless to-do list.

Unfortunately, the raven that came with Gold Road pre-purchase also does not sit. So, I think NPCs and pets are different.

I would have loved them to sit down once in a while. It would have been great from a housing perspective.
There goes the nice idea of having them sitting on the back of a cozy chair in a sorceror's study....

Idk if you checked that post, it was specifically about the raven which uses the same model as the crows. It should then be the same rig, also, which has a sitting animation.

Maybe they can sit or walk around in houses? You can do that with crow assistants, they have several walking animations depending on the speed you set for their pathing, I don't think any pets have features like that though.

Would have much preferred these flying non-combat pets to be more like a permanent version of the Justal's Falcon memento.
