Multiple Sneak Attacks

After ten years of playing I finally decided to try a stealth-focused character. . . and I realized apparently it's impossible to utilize sneak attacks more than once per combat, even while invis. Is this intentional design, or am I doing something wrong? If it's intentional, it seems like an awful choice given that it only works in PvE anyway.

There are a couple of skills that "force" you into Stealth, like Cloak from NB. So you can get the Criticals.

But the Burst initial attack that does all that sweet flanking damage, your getting one of those per session. Enemy has to be unaware of you to trigger that, and just like you, stays in a state of combat.

What class did you play for ten years and then switch off of ?

Hahah, most of them, including NB. But I was warned very early on that stealth wasn't worth it so I never bothered testing it till now. I guess they were kinda right.
