Noakensorc? 110k DPS HA Sorc without Oakensoul

Figured I'd hop back on a heavy attack sorc on the PTS to find out how much I can squeeze out without oakensoul. Turns out, more than anything I can find online. I think people just kinda gave up build crafting after oakensoul because it's just so easy to hit 100k on it.

Well, using rune to proc empower every 10 seconds (same as when you re-up unstable) and bound aegis of all things. You can still pretty easily squeeze out near 111k on the PTS. Still need to re-build it on live but I doubt much has changed with the setup. I tried the new wield soul with lightning & empower but it still performs a bit worse unfortunately. I don't like rune that much but it's been growing on me over the few months I've been using it on my current HA sorc. I do wish I had a solid replacement for relequens as I feel that has been meta for way too long, but oh well, maybe you guys can come up with some ideas to improve it. I'll give whatever you can think of a shot and let you know. As long as you have some sort of reason why it might perform better. I hate just testing everything since I have to do so many tests to ensure consistency.

I can suggest the following two things

I'm not sure that Infallible Mage will be better than Relequen when parsing, but in real content it may be more useful.
Shocking Soul can improve the use of Empower, as the buff will be slotted on both bars.

If it was something other than another single target set I might agree, and I prefer IA as a set for the utility, but if you have more than one sorcerer you already have pretty good minor vuln uptime, just by myself I already am at about 36%. Plus both sets only start applying with a fully charged heavy attack, so I don't quite understand how this would be better 'in real content'.

I don't show it here but empower uptime is already ~90% with my rotation, I tried that skill out as a replacement but not as an addition. I assume you would replace bound aegis with it?

You can also proc the Mages Guild Empower with Ulfsild's Contingency, which can be specced for Minor Force, too. It looks like the damage should be similar to Flame Rune (but only melee. But no aiming, at least.)

Can also use Degeneration over Crit Surge for a little boost (obviously Crit Surge is nice for content).

And can obviously get a parse boost from using Flame enchant + Flame wall of elements since it procs its own Off Balance.

Not sure why I'm making suggestions when that's already great damage with skills you can use in content lol.

Is there something you'd prefer over Relequen's for fights where you might not be able to keep the stacks up?

Wow I didn't even notice. I did a parse right after this and got about the same result (109.8k) so I didn't really think to check.

I'll have to give Ulfsild's Contingency a try and let you know. And yeah, I want this to still stay content relevant while keeping the damage up so I'd like Crit Surge to remain.

Well, it's not directly a sorcerer but rather the Concussed status that is applied by lightning damage, which sorcerers just happen to get a bonus to damage with. Which is why I run double lightning staves. Most sorcerers have more ways to apply lightning damage than other classes as well through storm calling.
