    Beacon of Oblivion is a really cool idea but the 2,3,4 piece bonuses are all over the map... if the intent is to make no pet the DPS option, and Pet the tankier option, bonuses 2-4 should also toggle back and forth.

    Otherwise it's really not cohesive at all and won't get used like the first round of class sets. Just my .02... would love to be able to build around it for dps if the other lines make more sense.

    Super fun idea, hoping we can influence tweaks during the PTS cycle.

    Yeah this Sorc one is absolutely terrible and really shows a lack of understanding in the game.

    - The set itself is just a bunch of stats and percent modifiers - in other words, it is not fun. It is a purely boring set whether effective or not (and it’s not effective at all).
    - Pet build version is far outdone by other sets in any content, including IA itself.
    - Non-pet version is only usable in PvE since it is monster damage…. But Non-pet Sorc is weak and you are wasting set bonuses so you lose any potential damage increase. Totally useless.

    Monolith is a much more interesting and fun set but it’s also massively undertuned to ever be used.

    There’s truly zero creativity going into itemization for ESO and it shows.

    The templar one depends on how hard it will be to pick up the spear, will it spawn at our feet or whoever got hit by the burning light or just randomly.
    If it's easy to pick and launch the spear it could be great.

    The Necro one is dead on arrival unless it gets that cooldown removed. Why bother using it if your aoe consumers will only get one proc out of it? As is, you wouldn't even be able to control where the proc happens with something like Deaden Pain/Potency.

    On paper, most of the new Class Sets appeal to me more than the first ones. I'll definitely try a couple of them on Monday, such as the Warden's set.
    I can't zoom in on those. Anybody have a link?

    Does the nb one put you in a Dodge state or just 1 attack? Because force pulse is 3 attacks.

    20% base speed for high ping players.
    Streak moves you faster then speed cap.
    They should of made 4v4v4v4 instead of 8v8.

    The Nightblade one is kinda bad. The Major vulnerability is a feature that makes it possibly worth it? But dodging a single attack is almost meaningless given the amount of attacks you will receive in one second during PvP.

    Question. Who would anyone ever use any of these sets when farming normal Cloudrest for Rele and normal Falkreth Hold for Pillar is much easier and quicker?

    Why would a new player spend countless hours looking up build guides and developing an IA character when the alternative that I outlined is much simpler?

    Why would a veteran player waste hours, possibly days, farming IA when they already have access to much more powerful sets?

    Throughout the years the community has highlighted the problem of there being so much item set bloat in this game yet ZOS still keeps adding new, pointless 5 piece sets that will be forgotten literally days after they come out. This isn't what the game needs.

    I massively disagree, dodging a cost just for doing a shadow ability is essentially the cost of dodge roll which is about 2k-2.5k stamina you don't have to expend just from using a skill they would already be using in their rotation anyway.

    For gankers that's a boon because you can cloak away, dodge away from a hit that might otherwise pull you from stealth, and get your guaranteed critical attack which is at a baseline 50% more damage and 10% additional damage from the Major vulnerability.

    It's literally free mitigation and damage from doing something most NB's would already be doing without any type of prep needed. A LOT of NB's cloak spam so this would literally just allow cloak spamming nightblades to be tankier and get more damage/setup to burst you. Completely downplaying the potential this has for the average player

    I was gonna say this, but you beat me to it.

    Additionally, I might add that phantasmal escape will stack with this, So essentially you can get 2 dodges for absolutely free. Every 5 seconds.

    If anyone remembers the old evasion, they will know how strong this set potentially has.

    For example. I have a nightblade build that is based around fear. It aoe stuns, it reduces your spell damage, and it stacks with power extract. Major+minor cowardice is a force. If you add torugs pact with the spell dmg debuff, it also stacks. All together I can strip 1500 spell and weapon damage from anyone I fight. If I use this new set, they will take an additional 10% dmg that also stacks with soul harvest/ Incap.

    Do you see where I'm going with this? -1500 Spell dmg, 30% more damage taken from debuffs, Major defile, with a small uptime of minor defile as well. And to top the sundae with a cherry, I get free dodges caked into the build.

    The new nightblade set, is going to be old evasion + Major vulnerability.

    If the templar one proc the launch of the spear every time you use an aedric spear on an enemy in those 6 secs, it could be really good set imo.
    But if the spear is only launched once, the set is literally garbage.

    Where’s the class fantasy? Most of these Class sets are as uninspired as every other set in this game.

    Here’s what fun new playstyle class sets look like imo:

    Robes of Conjuration Mastery (Sorc)
    (2-pieces) Summon Unstable Familiar and its morphs now call on both a Familiar and Clannfear to fight by your side.
    (3-pieces) Summon Winged Twilight and its morphs now also call on a Flame Atronach to fight by your side.
    (4-pieces) Daedric Curse, Bound Armor, Conjured Ward, and their morphs each individually increase your damage done by 5% for 8 seconds whenever they deal damage or absorb damage. This bonus is doubled for your pets.
    (5-pieces) Summon Storm Atronach and its morphs now also summon a portal to Oblivion, from which two Dremora Kynreeves will pour through to fight by your side for 15 seconds or until defeated.

    Dusk’s Wrath (Templar)
    (2 pieces) Sun Fire and its morphs now deal their damage over 6 seconds. Each cast can stack with each other.
    (3-pieces) Radiant Oppression and its morphs now also pierce though enemies in contact with the beam, although the execute bonus will only apply to the original target.
    (4-pieces) Nova and its morphs now also cause many Solar Flares to rain down at random over the duration, striking enemies wherever they land. Allies within Nova are also granted Sun Shield on cast.
    (5-pieces) Dawn’s Wrath abilities become shadow variants which copy 50% of their damage done into a boon for 60 seconds. When you cast Nova and its morphs, the boon is expended to form a Calamitous Mass that collides into your Nova once the duration ends, bursting for all of its stored damage as Magic Damage. This amount is capped to 30% of a target’s Max Health or up to 300,000 damage.

    There! A full pet build Daedric Summoner Sorcerer, and a dark-themed Dawn’s Wrath Templar DPS. Seems a whole lot cooler to me than “Adds 1489 Offensive Penetration” :neutral:

    What class fantasy, exactly? All of the new sets simply offer a combination of generic effects we already have, just with more steps.
    • Beacon of Oblivion - Generic stat boost. No different in functionality than stuff like Mother's Sorrow.
    • Corpsebuster - Generic direct damage AOE. No different than stuff like Dark Convergence but more awkward to use.
    • Pyrebrand - Generic Fire Damage DOT/Direct Damage. No different than stuff like Flame Blossom and Maw of the Infernal. Only difference is you have the DOT and Direct Damage components in 1 set and you have more steps.
    • Spattering DIsjunction - Applies a random status effect on doing damage. Does literally the same thing as Threads of War but more limited since you can't control the status effect and you're forced into using a snare/imobilization, which enemies in both pve and pvp can have immunity to (boss enemies in pve and players with CC immunity/snare immunity in pvp)
    • Umbral Edge - Does mostly the same thing as Turning Tide except more limited since Turning Tide is AOE and doesn't require you to use a specific skill. But hey, dodging an attack is completely unique right? It's not like we have a roll dodge ability or sets like Meridia's Blessed Armor, Glorious Defender, and Shadow Dancer that do the same thing.
    • Aerie's Cry - Generic Single Target Direct Damage set with a 3 second cooldown. Unfathomable Darkness literally does the exact same thing. They even have the same 3 second cooldown between procs and they both summon birds. The 10% damage done that Aerie does is just a generic damage booster.
    • Aetheric Lancer - Generic Single Target Direct Damage set that functions via a summoned weapon. Does the same thing as Morkuldin but with more steps. If you ignore the summoned weapon part and only look at the effect it has on the enemy then it does the same thing as Aerie's Cry but with a longer cooldown. The 300 extra weapon/spell damage is just a generic damage booster.

    As for the point about pvp, my counterpoint to this is the same as my original post. While some may be somewhat useful, why would you waste time farming any of these sets when there are better options available that are much quicker to farm or that you already have in your collection?

    Lol, "another" buff to cloak. Give me a break.

    Just for equipping cloak, probably the most p0werful ability in the game, you get free major prophecy on both bars.
    Cloak is an extremely powerful offensive and defensive move, since you can escape (defense0 and mask your attack (offense)
    Emerging from cloak gives NB free 300 WD (since all pvp NB are vamps)
    Attacking from cloak gives free guaranteed crit

    So now on top of all that, you get a free dodge plus apply vulnerability?
    2 GOs, an overlord and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP

    Erm, what?
    The templar one summons and throws a spear, like you know daedric spear.
    Necro detonates corpses the main unique mechanic for necro is what again?
    Warden summons a pet, like you know the rest of the animal companions.
    Sorc one is lame I'll give you that.
    Nb is a defensive/offensive combo for the shadow skill line.
    Dks get more fire dmg.
    Arcanist get status effects, this ones a bit generic.
