Just an appreciation post to all 3 factions just now in the Bloody Grasslands (between Fare and Alessia) 3 way faction event over the hammer. 7/5/24 around 10pm EST on Gray Host. Over 1000 deaths recorded. Epic fighting from all 3 factions! <3 its rare to see a huge event like that and the performance was actually pretty smooth too so kudos to ZOS maybe getting some stabilization on huge battles :)

It's not ZOS constantly micromanaging cyro servers that results in performance changes. It's entirely based on the players. The server load will vary based on the distribution of play styles.

This is because a lower APM (actions per minute) player with fewer AEs and procs will load the server less than a highly mobile, higher APM player with lots of AEs and procs.

They did a no proc test on the main server a couple years ago, no effect on performance.

The statement that "slow" players put less strain on the server than "fast" players is correct and can be explained logically.
This is also the reason why ball groups cause lags and freezes (until the FPS stops completely).
I suspect that many players spread out over a larger area put less stress on the server than one or more ball groups in a small area.
